Historia
A cursed druid, blackmailed by a faery queen to find a missing magic rock. Let's just hope they don't hack the druid off...for everyone's sake. Name's Colin McCool. Folks call me the Junkyard Druid. I hate that name. Despite my last name, I'm not "cool" like the other hunters in town. I don't run an occult bookstore, I've never owned a Harley, and I didn't inherit a family fortune passed down through generations of hunters before me. And I kind of have this curse on me that's messed up my life.

Historia
It takes only one halfling bomb, and Offi Numminen’s world is turned upside-down - or downside-up, really, since he lives in a hole in the ground. His goth cardigans and aggressive melancholy set him apart from the other gnomes, as does his decision to fight back against their halfling oppressors. Suddenly Offi is the leader of a band of lovable misfits and outcasts - from a gryphon who would literally kill for omelets to a young dwarf herbalist who is better with bees than with his cudgel to an assertive and cheerful teen witch with a beard as long as her book of curses.

It took a bit but it's worth it.
Revisado: 07-07-19
Again, it's on me. Whenever an author changes their style it takes me a bit to get into it. Loving the Iron Druid books so much I keep expecting a different type of humor. These books, combining Hearne and Dawson styles, are a whole new bit of fun. I suggest to give it a try.

I have them all...
Revisado: 05-24-19
I know. This is a review for the first Jane Yellowrock book of the series. Normally when I start a new series I buy the first three books to let character development grow and the progressive storyline build. I not only bought every Yellowrock book after the first three but I have added Faith Hunter as one of my Favorite "go to" writers. Just about everything she writes is in my Library. The Narrator, Khristine Hvam, is superb and an awesome choice for the job. Her being able to speak the language of The People, which is not all that easy, and the distinctive difference in the characters is wonderful. Faith Hunters willingness to delve into various myths and legends and to bring them to a current time is alluring. Plots and subplots are addictive and everything is wrapped in a Woman who can kick some major butt.
Short version: Great progressive Story, great narration, in depth characters and plot twists a politician would be proud of. Buy it (i suggest the first 3). Read it. Oh, and keep an eye out for the offshoot stories involving SoulWood.

Historia
Yancy Lazarus - mage, bluesman, and demon-souled - is having the worst hangover of his life. He just woke up in a dingy hotel in literal Hell with one eye missing, an arm covered in swirling golden tattoos, and no recollection of the past six months. All he wants is to figure out how he ended up in the Great Below and whether there’s a way home. But getting out of Hell is no easy feat. Yancy is the most wanted man in the infernal city of Pandæmonium, and he’s being hunted by demonic cutthroats for a series of high-profile murders he can’t remember committing.

Well Hell...
Revisado: 05-24-19
I might have an addiction. I have taken out just about all the Lazarus books in just over a week. Nonstop. It was a rocky start, again, all on me- but So well worth the Trip so far. I have finished Book 5...I have readers withdrawal now. I didn't quote expect the Rabbit hole to go THAT far down. Had a refreshing perspective of permanent retirement and it was really nice.
Like I have said in all the other reviews...if you have come THIS far...why are you bothering in reading a review. James Hunter is owed his pound of flesh, just get it...read it...and pine like me till the next book comes out.

Historia
Legions of murderous undead, Haitian voodoo, and a 5,000-year-old serpent god. Yeah, 'cause that's exactly what Yancy Lazarus needs in his life: more complications. As if being the Hand of Fate and the newly appointed guardian over one of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse wasn't headache enough. All Yancy wants is an easy life on the open road - chock-full of ribs, beer, cigarettes, and smoky bars blaring with gritty blues music - but that just isn't in the cards. Nope, not anymore.

What do you need a Review for?
Revisado: 05-24-19
Come On now. Really? Ya need a review for this poor guy? You gotta keep going. His life is one big floater in the Cosmic toilet and the struggle is real (well real enough to kind of feel for him). KEEP READING...not the review...the Story! Book 4 is just another addictive potato chip in the bag. Learn who this Savage Prophet finally is and the twisted dark plans still unfolding.
Will Yancy find the Single Malt? Hope so...he'll need it.
Overall Everything was Great. It's good that I got this on audio because it slows me down...it's a 12+ hour listen but I would have consumed this in less I'm sure.

Historia
Bigfoot is real. Yancy Lazarus - mage, bluesman, and rambler - knows because there happens to be a nine-foot-tall, walking myth standing in the road, flagging him down. Yancy just can't escape his reputation as a supernatural fix-it man even when cruising through the forgotten backwoods of Montana. Turns out Bigfoot has a serious problem on his hands: one of his own has gone rogue, developing a taste for the flesh of humans and Sasquatch alike.

Congrats! Welcome to Book 3!
Revisado: 05-24-19
You made it past book two and you're thinking...should I...or shouldn't I? DO IT. You have made it through the hard part and it's smooth enjoyment from here on in. The Story has more twists and turns than a politician under oath. My advice, keep at it Alice and see how deep the Rabbit hole goes.
Great Story, Awesome Characters and a new look at some points in a mixed genre 'construct' that might surprise some.

Historia
Yancy Lazarus just wants to be left alone. He wants to play his blues music, smoke a few cigarettes, and otherwise leave the supernatural world to fend for itself. He especially wants to be left alone by the Guild of the Staff - the mage ruling body where he used to work as a fix-it man. But when a little kid gets nabbed by an ancient fae creature from the nether regions of Winter, and the Guild refuses to set things right, he just can't seem to heed good sense and leave things be.

Yes...it's Good...Keep Reading!
Revisado: 05-24-19
If you have not seen my review on the first book I'll restate here that the ONLY reason I didn't give top stars in performance was I was still getting accustomed to the choice of Narrative style. Again, Charlie Kevin is a great reader- it was the Character that I had to grow accustomed to. IF you found that a problem in the first book then I urge you to keep at it, the Story is well formed and the Choice in "voice" is perfect.
Overall the continuation of the Yancy Lazarus story is growing to be addictive. It's a different look I can't wait to see more of.

Historia
Yancy Lazarus is having a bad day: there's a bullet lodged in his butt cheek, his face looks like the site of a demolition derby, and he's been saran-wrapped to a banquet table. He never should have answered the phone. Stupid bleeding heart - helping others in his circles is a good way to die - just ask the gang members ripped to pieces by some kind of demonic nightmare in LA.

Give it a try...well worth it.
Revisado: 05-24-19
I have to say right off that my rating for performance is strictly due to how campy it first sounded. I know the Mr Kevin (the Narrator) is good so I was a bit shocked at the start. I fear many might not give the Book it's fair try. Please...at least finish the book-the story is worth it. By Book two the GumShoe Schtick grows on you and is actually good for the storyline as it progresses. By book three you'll catch yourself interormonologing the same way in your day to day.
Overall I have to say it's a nice new twist to a few blended genres- can't wait for the next one.
