Historia
As the son of Hades, Nico di Angelo has been through so much, from the premature deaths of his mother and sister, to being outed against his will, to losing his friend Jason during the trials of Apollo. But there is a ray of sunshine in his life—literally: his boyfriend, Will Solace, the son of Apollo. Together the two demigods can overcome any obstacle or foe. At least, that's been the case so far . . . Now Nico is being plagued by a voice calling out to him from Tartarus, the lowest part of the Underworld.

Disappointed
Revisado: 05-19-23
Least favorite of all the books. Does not seem like a Rick Riordan story. Very dull and slow moving.

Historia
Was Mary Magdalene a prostitute, a female divinity figure, a church leader, or all of those? Biblical references to her are tantalizingly brief, but we do know that she was the first person to whom the risen Christ appeared - and the one commissioned to tell others the good news, earning her the ancient honorific "Apostle to the Apostles". Today, Mary continues to spark controversy, curiosity, and veneration. In a vivid re-creation of Mary Magdalene's life story, Margaret George convincingly captures this renowned woman's voice.

Historia
Forget your old name. Forget your parents." These are the things Euphrosyne’s grandparents and counselor tell her. But if Orthodox Christianity is a lie, why did the icon so dramatically save her life? And what can she do to get the icon back? In a post-Christian America, where going to church, praying, or owning holy things means death, a 12-year-old girl searches for the truth. Finding it may cost her everything.

Orthodox Christian Dystopian Book
Revisado: 06-16-21
A provocative book that snagged my attention from the first chapter. I listened to the book twice in 72 hours to be sure I did not miss anything. The book is meant for Orthodox Christian tee s but is perfect for adults as well. Like all dystopian books it will raise questions. It would be an excellent book club book for both teens and adults. Teens should have an adult who can answer some of the questions and topics that arise. I would highly recommend the book.

Blueprints for the Little Church provides practical ideas and encouragement - without judgment - for incorporating the primary practices of orthodox spirituality into your family life at every stage of its growth and throughout the church year.

Blueprints for the Little Church
Revisado: 10-27-20
An excellent book. Perfect not only for the new convert but for all Orthodox parents. I wish I had this book when my children were young. Elissa has a very pleasant, cheerful voice which makes the book very easy to listen to. The book is full of practical advice and wonderful suggestions. I particularly loved the appendix where she walks you thorough the church liturgical year with easy family activities and projects for the children to participate in each feast day. She also includes recipes for those without a yiayia (grandmother) to help. I highly recommend this book.
