If you have a pulse you will be inspired

I’m familiar with Kris Krohn, by watching his YouTube channel.
I’ve been seeking answers to my life dreams since the early 80’s and not very successfully managing to put into action what I’ve learned so far.
So why even pay attention to my review? Anyone willing to admit this level of struggle and failure is not trying to impress you. If I wanted to sell you on anything I would avoid even bringing up these facts, can we agree on that much? Okay, if we just talk like (as) friends here I think we can also agree that most of us as people can sooner or later separate the snake oil salesmen from those with our interests at heart. And I’ve been watching the motivators, mentors, coaches, experts, hypnotists, and all other self titled folks parade their stories and seminars past my attention span for 4 decades. I’ve been wound up and let down. Joined a ton of multi level and other types of supposed “opportunities” (which this book is not, by the way) and I’ve paid to attend seminars, classes, etc. and I’m still searching. I’ll be honest, I’m not sure if this fact is a badge of honor or something shameful I should just shut up about at this point. But I do recognize that Kris Krohn, is the real deal. This book and audio book is not about his real estate methods, thats not even mentioned, so if that’s what you’re looking for, this isn’t that book, it’s actually more important than that. Its really about how to begin from wherever you currently are in your life, to assess the realities good, bad, and ugly, then begin step by step to create the life that’s best and right for yourself personally. This is accomplished 90% through a lot of very personal stories from many people, which bring about several
Ah-Ha moments. I’m sure some things resonate with one individual more than another, but this is life and we’ve all (been there done that) to some degree. Many of the stories are very personal, and emotional, but in no way manipulatively so, as yes I’ve been there done that, with other authors then realized they were just playing me to get the reaction they want. The only thing I would give heads up about is ultimately if you want the full package of techniques and support, Kris is indeed trying to get you to attend his seminar, which looks like a high energy (Tony Robbins) sort of thing from the previews I’ve seen. This book is a bit light on actual methods to use. I’d bet if one becomes fully involved with Kris’s community of events and support, giving it one’s genuine 100%
It’s sure to be life altering in amazing ways. If you happen to be one of the tragically jaded and hopelessly negative souls, damaged nearly beyond repair. You probably are not even reading this. If you are definitely take this as a miraculous sign and lose yourself in this great work, giving it a fair chance to help you.
On the other hand, if you are absolutely certain that you would never attend a seminar type event, and anything suggesting you do so is automatically an infomercial put out to steal your money. Then by all means pass on this book, it doesn’t deserve the kind of vicious review you would leave after dipping your toe in the first chapter. It’s very modestly priced and offers a ton of real value whether you attend anything beyond it or not. Too many young people today seem to expect not only the nonexistent something for nothing, but they expect all of the worlds riches, respect, and honor simply because they exist. Entitlement is the word here. That’s a fantasy for losers, waiting for one more chance to be a victim. If you let these stories in, into your heart I believe they will light the way out of that dark fantasy and into the light of truth

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Call me old fashioned I guess. I'm still shocked when I buy a book (however inexpensive it may be) and get a level of patchwork information one would find in lightly researched magazine articles or a blog post. I'm not claiming the author doesn't have experience, only that if he does, then he should focus a minimum of a chapter or two per specific subject, actually sharing his story of experience in that area, both bad and good. What you get is a rapid stream of advice across a broad range of subjects at shallow depth. It actually leaves that aftertaste of bitter naivety, as when a teenager gives you life advice in that ( life is so simple tone ) based on his high school experience. Well, ok I'm being slightly mean, there are some warnings about certain things that dip an inch or two deeper than the picture I'm painting here. To make this a 4 or 5 star listening experience would require a complete rewrite based on the show don't tell method of writing. And I'm sorry to say this Mr. Narrator, you don't have a voice for reading audiobooks. I feel really rotten saying that. But it's so so true... On the other hand if you take some voice lessons, build it up, put some bass in it, etc. you could have your own phenomenal success story, from handicapped to superstar sort of thing. Best wishes and luck on that.
Has Passive Income turned you off from other books in this genre?
No I'm not turned off to the genre based on this book. It's my lifelong favorite genre. Perhaps that's why I'm so critical of this book, being such a massive disappointment not worthy of the genre. If the same author tried and failed writing fiction I wouldn't be so critical of it. I'd figure he gave it a go, try - try again
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Weak child like voice distracting terribly from the subject. Very difficult to take him seriously as any authority on the subject. Which I do understand he's not actually expected to be, as he's only paid to read and speak well, but still, he is the voice representing the author, and if I were that author I'd rather fumble through it doing my best effort than turn it over to that guy to massacre
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment
Any additional comments?
It did make me angry about one thing. The claim that this book is everything you'll need to create passive income. It's barely adequate as introductory fluff for the naive, regarding the choices of passive income available. Well, that and the irritating fact that the first chapter is about online business, with constant admission that it's not really passive - especially at first. And it's not ever technically passive, and blah blah Uhhhh no kidding, who doesn't know that. I'm looking for information on PASSIVE prepare for retirement income. If I wanted to read about starting a business I'd have chosen a different title.
