Great potential, rough start to the series

I absolutely hated the narrater, especially in the beginning. She is way too breathy in her reading and ruins the developing storyline because I found myself tuning her out...too fake. The plot is a bit rushed and I am hoping the writer slows this down because the storyline for the series has great potential. It's possible this first book is rushed in order to provide the series history for future books to build on and so I am hoping the next book will be better. Also same complaint as many others...character spend way too much time having explicit sex scenes unsteady of telling their story...I want to read, not listen to porn. Once in detail is already too much but over and over again I find I fast forward through half the book. Wish writers would use their talents to weave a true cliffhanging story instead of retelling sex scenes repeatedly...somewhat disappointed with that.

Fun but heavy foul language spoils the show

No, but hard to put down in spots

Wish the author would lay off the foul language...Really, if you want to truly educated independent women of today, give them an actual vocabulary!! I would not could not listen to these books without a headset and would not share with many of my friends and older children because of the language!

Would you try another book from Laura Wright and/or Tavia Gilbert?

The storyline and presentation is somewhat cheesy and the constant cursing and crudeness of the sex scenes ruined an otherwise interesting plot for me. I would read from boredom only.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Ending does make you want to know what happens in the next story but you can predict a lot of it.

Time Wasted

I finished this book out of sheer morbid curiosity. The best compliment that I can offer the author is that his synopsis is by far the highlight of his work. It lured me into purchasing a book that I would otherwise never have watched as a movie, much less wasted my time reading.

Rated F for foul language

The plot and characters were excellent and the bad guy is a REAL surprise, but the language is rediculously and unnecessarily foul. I could have done without that and would have appreciated a warning. I wish authors would learn that adding such wasted words doesn't build the personality of the character or express their mood, it only cheapens an otherwise excellent work.

The plot and characters were a good read, but the narrator was rediculously dramatic. He should go back to the basics or quit, in my opinion he destroyed this book. The ending didn't please me, but I can't complain without giving it away.

I was really surprised but enjoyed this book very much. It does pace a little slow, but for long rides and rainy days, its great.
