Historia
In the 1800s American South, Harriet Jacobs is enslaved and tormented by a cruel master. Jacobs outwits her tormentor and works in the cause of abolition and reform, and helps newly freed slaves with education and aftercare. In 2012, Timothy Ballard encounters a grieving father in Haiti whose three-year-old son has been kidnapped and sold into slavery, along with thousands of children who were orphaned after an earthquake devastated the country. Inspired by Harriet Jacobs, Tim pledges to track down the missing child to establish Operation Underground Railroad.

Learn to see in a new light!
Revisado: 09-14-19
A riveting compilation of true stories from the past merged with stories of the present which have together played a brilliant symphony of good vs evil, dark vs light, which I will not soon forget! It has been a long time since a book has effected me enough to attempt to even write a review - my whole outlook regarding service and light has changed dramatically, and my awareness increased greatly. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone - the only unanswered question left for me is what am I going to do about it?

Historia
The number one New York Times best-selling story about American Olympic triumph in Nazi Germany, the inspiration for the PBS documentary The Boys of '36, broadcast to coincide with the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 80th anniversary of the boys' gold medal race. Out of the depths of the Depression comes an irresistible story about beating the odds and finding hope in the most desperate of times - the improbable, intimate account of how nine working-class boys from the American West showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant.

Best book in 3 years!
Revisado: 01-11-18
Would you consider the audio edition of Never Split the Difference to be better than the print version?
The audio version adds to the feel of the book, Michael Kramer's voice is perfect to listen over and over and not get tired of hearing. Reading and rereading the print book allows me to hear his voice again in my head while comprehending the words from the page.
What other book might you compare Never Split the Difference to and why?
I recently read Crucial Conversations, but in my opinion, Never Split the Difference is the best book I've read and or listened to in the last 3 years!
Any additional comments?
This book offers an easy to understand and remember toolset that makes practicing and looking for opportunities to interact a fun challenge. It offers the perfect solution for dealing with "liars and jerks", what a profound, yet simple way to become a fearless negotiator!

Historia
History is about so much more than memorizing facts. It is, as more than half of the word suggests, about the story. And, told in the right way, it is the greatest one ever written: Good and evil, triumph and tragedy, despicable acts of barbarism and courageous acts of heroism. The things you've never learned about our past will shock you. For example, the reason why gun control is so important to government elites can be found in a story about Athens. Not the city in ancient Greece, but the one in 1946 Tennessee.

Would you consider the audio edition of Miracles and Massacres to be better than the print version?
I don't know since I did not buy the print version - but will now go out and get it to add to my library.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Hard to pick just one - there are so many valiant men and women mentioned in this book, It might be easier to pick the most misunderstood, and assign him the role of despot, perhaps the name of Edison comes to mind...
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This book took me both up and down, I am encouraged by selfless acts of honorable men, and also saddened and sickened by the selfish and evil acts of others.
Any additional comments?
This is an excellent snapshot of some of the most misunderstood or unknown events that had a tremendous impact on this our country. I would like more in this same format, I'll preorder them as fast as you can write them :-)

Historia
Dish up the red meat, eggs, and whole milk! In this well-researched and captivating narrative, veteran food writer Nina Teicholz proves how everything we've been told about fat is wrong. For decades, Americans have cut back on red meat and dairy products full of "bad" saturated fats. We obediently complied with nutritional guidelines to eat "heart healthy" fats found in olive oil, fish, and nuts, and followed a Mediterranean diet heavy on fruits, vegetables, and grains. Yet the nation's health has declined. What is going on?

Finally the truth about the "Hearth Healthy Diet"
Revisado: 06-05-15
What a revelation of how governmental regulations and arrogance can disrupt the greater good for nations and generations of people - this is a wonderful book with light shining on those who are guilty of this greatest crime, the subversion of nutrition, the big money and the power quest by food companies, buying up scientists and nutritionists to propagate these falsehoods and lies- and the rational uncovering of their flawed studies, what a crock - who can trust any study after what we have seen here, as for me and my family, we shall eat meat, eggs, cheeses! Thanks for a marvelously written, comprehensive and thorough work, I'm going to keep this one close as a reference!

I give thanks for the man, Jim Rohn, his life, his lessons, his stories, his passion to give, lift, help and inspire- my only regret is that I never found him in time to meet him - would that I could have found these lessons in my twenties rather than my fifties- there is an art to living - he lays it out simply, perfectly- I recommend this to everyone. Much success!
