Childish
Revisado: 01-01-25
While there are mature topics and a good story line, the writing is a bit juvenile. The women are completely self absorbed, while the men are bending backwards to appease them. Patronizing and unrealistic. Poor attempt to lecture us about how men should treat women. The women came across as mean and the men wimps.

The once-mighty house of Snow has fallen on hard times, its fate hanging on the slender chance that Coriolanus will be able to out charm, outwit, and outmaneuver his fellow students to mentor the winning tribute. Regret purchase
Revisado: 11-20-23
I absolutely hated it. I wanted to love it. Loved the Hunger Games series, but could not even make it half way. Waste of money. A lot of reviews complain about the narrator, but I felt that was the least of its problems. Felt like it was written by a very young child. Story, character interactions and dialogue were so immature and childish (especially compared to The Hunger Games). Such a disappointment. Save your money.

Love the story. Excellent writing. And the BEST narrator I have ever had the pleasure to hear. Voices are distinctly different and both male and female voices fit their characters. She is quite talented. What a treat.

Historia
Everything Poppy has ever believed in is a lie, including the man she was falling in love with. Thrust among those who see her as a symbol of a monstrous kingdom, she barely knows who she is without the veil of the Maiden. But what she does know is that nothing is as dangerous to her as him. The Dark One. The Prince of Atlantia. He wants her to fight him, and that’s one order she’s more than happy to obey. He may have taken her, but he will never have her.

Wonderful!
Revisado: 11-23-20
Great story. Armentrout brings the characters to life with realistic and humorous dialogue. Performance one of the best I’ve heard with believable distinctions between voices. Nielsen’s narration was fabulous.

Loved the book and loved the narrator. She was the best I have heard and my favorite of any audio book I’ve listened to. Only wish she had been used for the rest of the series.

Great story!
Revisado: 07-01-18
This is one of my favorite series. My only complaint is that I had some difficulty with the narration of the main character. As described in the book, Evie is suppose to be from the south and a sweet sheltered ‘girlie girl’. There was no southern accent and she sounded like a 13 year old tomboy. I found this particularly difficult, especially with the sex scenes. However, that being said, I felt her narration of the variety of characters and accents was outstanding and the best I had ever experienced with an audio book.
