Historia
Lydia Quixano Pérez lives in the Mexican city of Acapulco. She runs a bookstore. She has a son, Luca, the love of her life, and a wonderful husband who is a journalist. And while there are cracks beginning to show in Acapulco because of the drug cartels, her life is, by and large, fairly comfortable. When Lydia’s husband’s tell-all profile of Javier, the jefe of the newest drug cartel that has gruesomely taken over the city, is published, none of their lives will ever be the same.

Literary perfection!
Revisado: 04-02-25
This book was so many things: sad, happy, dramatic, intense, suspenseful, tear jerking, and so unfortunately relevant. Everyone should read this book!

You can feel the authors emotions in this. I’m a lesbian mother to 2 girls and we teach love and understanding to all people. This book reminds us all why this is so important. It’s peoples lives on the line.

Historia
Caitlyn Lloyd has the world at her feet. Or more accurately - under her horse’s hooves. With the 2016 Rio Olympics just around the corner, nothing is going to derail her long-held dream of winning a medal or two in Olympic dressage. Not even the reappearance of a childhood so-not-a-friend throwing her perfectly balanced life into disarray. Addie Gardner’s career is at its peak, and accepting a last-minute fill-in position as the veterinarian for the US Olympic Dressage Team was a no-brainer. The fact that her old crush from Pony Club is on the team is just a bonus.

Historia
Gina Antonelli had big dreams once, of riding her athletic achievements all the way to West Point and being the first in a long family line of soldiers to serve as an officer. When that dream died along with the girl she'd planned to marry one day, she'd vowed to forget about happily ever afters. When Gina agrees to renovate Carrie's soon-to-be new house as a favor to her brother's boss, she doesn't welcome Carrie's overtures at friendship or her own unexpected attraction.

Not the best narrator
Revisado: 12-18-21
This story was great! But the narrator was in like slow motion which was frustrating. And her voices didn’t quite match the situations. But another great story by Rad!!!

Historia
Secret Service Agent Oakes Weaver is in the midst of the biggest assignment of her career - leading the advance team for President Andrew Powell's impending trip to Philadelphia where everyone expects he will be nominated to run for a second term. The last thing she needs is a tragedy among the president's inner circle that might not be an accident, or the sudden recruitment of Ari Rostof, a woman who might be a lot more than she seems. But Oakes doesn't get a say in policy, she only has to secure the president's safety - at all costs.

Wrong narrator
Revisado: 11-23-21
The story here was great but the narrator did the story a disservice. Not sure why Abby Craden wasn’t the narrator of this one! Maybe Audible should contract with one narrator for an entire series?? But the story itself was great in my opinion!

Historia
Reese Conlon’s much anticipated family leave is only two weeks away, and nothing is going to stand in the way of her being at her wife’s side for the upcoming birth—not even the summer crowds in Provincetown, a new rookie cop with a hero complex, and a cruise ship at anchor in the harbor with a reported outbreak of a mysterious illness.

Great story… wrong narrator ☹️
Revisado: 09-25-21
The entire series was excellent! This story did cause me to have flashbacks from the early days of the COVID pandemic (I’m a nurse in Boston) but was as good as the preceding tales! HOWEVER the narrator was terrible! Her voice overs were so bad. Her sounds during the intimate scenes were squeaky. I admit she made it difficult to listen to after having enjoyed the other 7 books so much! If Audible reads these reviews can you PLEASE PLEASE reproduce the narration of this book with Nicol Zanzarella????
