Historia
In the quiet of twilight, on an early autumn day, 26-year-old Elisa Vandersteel is killed while riding her bicycle along the Charles River. It appears she was struck by lightning - except the weather is perfectly clear, with not a cloud in sight. Dr. Kay Scarpetta, the Cambridge Forensic Center's director and chief, decides at the scene that this is no accidental act of God. Her investigation becomes complicated when she begins receiving a flurry of bizarre poems from an anonymous cyberbully who calls himself Tailend Charlie.

Incredibly tedious slow moving, irritating book
Revisado: 02-14-17
Patricia Cornwell is turn her one time heroine into an arrogant self-centered piece of work. I quit right reading Cornwell for several years this book reminded me why K Scarpetta is no longer anybody I want to be around.

Well researched and written, this is not for the faint of heart. Be prepared to trek the Amazon Rain Forest . Even though you think you know the ending Millard
has suspense dangling from every tree. I highly recommend this book, but be warned this is not a frivolous book.

The beginning of a great collaboration and a long term friendship. Much Tano, Hopi and Navajo culture.
All in all a bang up good mystery with crackerjack detective work . This is a repeater!

Ploddingly predictable
Revisado: 05-11-14
I want to like this series. I started with Hardcastle's Burglar. I wish I had saved my money on this one. I just do not think the author likes women. So far I have listened to four of this series, and the mystery always seems to revolve around whores. If you start with that premise you can soon figure "who dunnit"
The performance however; is always spectacular . How the actor keeps track of the varied characters mystifies me.

Revisado: 01-26-13
I am an adult, but I love Riordan's youth novels. This is too heavy, but I would not slam it except for the language. I get very tired of hearing the same word over and over.and over.

Revisado: 08-30-12
This is a repeater. The narrator put me off at first, but she did a first rate job. Sister Magdalen is back with another of her spectacular rescues and Cadfael contrives a happy ending from very little cloth. If you like Cadfael this is a safe bet.

Not Thrilled
Revisado: 08-30-12
I usually enjoy listening to Cadfael mysteries over and over, but I found this formulaic and disjointed. The dialog which is usually close to poetry just plods, and the plot was predictable.
The butter on the bun though was a mushy ending to a totally improbable story.
The performance was dead on, just not much to work with.
I Hesitated to write this so I listened again. It just isn't there.

Kinda like Wagner " not as bad as it sounds"
Revisado: 06-22-12
I bought this dispite the negative reviews. I am a total Durant fan. Read the History of the World, Yup that one.The first bit is great and engrossing, 100 greatest books does not make a great read. This might be better in hardcover. But have been through it twice and will plunge in again. I prefer books good for read after read, this qualifies , but you better like Durant.
