What a tangled web we weave.

The story was excellent as always, but I must add one caveat. I could do with a bit less of the psychotherapy and soul searching by Joey. It adds nothing to the story as far as I’m concerned.

A danger of enormous dimensions that threatens to descend from the skies and destroy entire kingdoms.

I've listened to the previous "Path" books but I feel something has changed. They have always been aimed at a YA audience but the last few are just juvenile. I think the recent books are meant for elementary children. I'm done.

I've listened to all of Jesse McDermitt's novels so far. They are an interesting mix of action and backstory with many interesting characters and locations. I like the stories even though Jesse is an overbearing, self-righteous "Dudley Doright" who thinks he is always right. I forgive him, no one is perfect.

Raise the Banner moves slower than the previous installments. Not as much action with a lot more introspective dialogue. All and all this is a fantastic series and I'm looking forward to the conclusion in the next book.

I thought I found a great series with L.A. Requiem but unfortunately, Mr. Crais changed the narrator to James Daniels. Daniels sounds like an account, not the hard-boiled private detective that was perfectly portrayed by Ron McLarty. I don't think I'll continue with any more of this series, too bad.
