"As a firm believer, I began having doubts. Doubts about faith, and doubts about believers not asking questions. I embarked on a journey to get closer to God. Perhaps I became too close. What I saw changed my life forever."

Another solid coming out of religion story
Revisado: 05-15-14
What does David C. Smalley bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I always enjoy when an author reads they're own book, you feel like the words are getting the proper emphasis, that may be missed by another. The beginning of this story reminds me much of my own, though I do not publicly debate, and have yet to find or create an organization that may benefit from my specific skill set to benefit skepticism and disillusionment with religions.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Drummer to Debater - Finding reality through submersion in woo.

Historia
In this first book of The Complete Heretic's Guide to World Religion series, historian and award-winning atheist author Dave Fitzgerald takes us behind the Salt Lake curtain for a glimpse at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and answers your questions: Where did this multi-billion dollar tax-exempt corporation come from? Did Joseph Smith really sleep with all those women? Are the Mormons going to take over the whole world, and if so, is there any way to stop them? But that's not all!

One listen may not be enough...
Revisado: 11-09-13
Which character – as performed by David Smalley – was your favorite?
David did a great job with the material, and his enthusiasm was evident in the reading.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
The great American Con job, "I can totally translate some reformed Egyptian."
Any additional comments?
If you ever wondered about the Mormons, the habits and origins, this book has you covered. Their is so much information here, I suggest multiple listens.

Historia
Why are atheists angry? Is it because they're selfish, joyless, lacking in meaning, and alienated from God? Or is it because they have legitimate reasons to be angry - and are ready to do something about it? Armed with passionate outrage, absurdist humor, and calm intelligence, popular blogger Greta Christina makes a powerful case for outspoken atheist activism, and explains the empathy and justice that drive it. This accessible, personal, down-to-earth book speaks not only to atheists, but also to believers who want to understand the so-called new atheism.

Everyone get angry!
Revisado: 11-09-13
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I finished this in a day and a half, if my boss wasn't so adamant about me doing my job I would have finished on the first day.
Any additional comments?
The author does a great job expressing the frustration of dealing with a magical thinking world, while respecting those still caught in it's vortex of immoral non-consistent and out-right harmful doctrine and dogma.

Historia
Nailed sheds light on ten beloved Christian myths, and, with evidence gathered from historians across the theological spectrum, shows how they point to a Jesus Christ created solely through allegorical alchemy of hope and imagination; a messiah transformed from a purely literary, theological construct into the familiar figure of Jesus - in short, a purely mythic Christ.

What did you love best about Nailed?
This well-written informative work uses the sources Christians accept to invalidate the sources Christians accept. I want everyone who was ever in the church to listen to this, with their logic glasses on.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
What day was the Jesus crucified? The writer that made it into the modern biblical canon can't agree. Also why didn't anyone else see a mob of Jewish zombies?
