Historia
Living with his little brother, Fudge, makes Peter Hatcher feel like a fourth grade nothing. Whether Fudge is throwing a temper tantrum in a shoe store, smearing mashed potatoes on the walls at Hamburger Heaven, or scribbling all over Peter's homework, he's never far from trouble. He's a two-year-old terror who gets away with everything, and Peter's had enough.

Historia
"Who am I becoming?" That was the question nagging pastor and author John Mark Comer. Outwardly, he appeared successful. But inwardly, things weren’t pretty. So, he turned to a trusted mentor for guidance and heard these words: "Ruthlessly eliminate hurry from your life. Hurry is the great enemy of the spiritual life." It wasn’t the response he expected, but it was - and continues to be - the answer he needs. Within this audiobook, you’ll find a fascinating road map to staying emotionally healthy and spiritually alive in the chaos of the modern world.

lots of Jesus talk, in a good way!
Revisado: 02-13-24
This was a thought provoking book. Being LDS I had always looked at things in one way, this gave me a new way to look at similar things (sabbath day especially)
If you can’t handle Jesus’ examples then ya, skip it. But if you like Jesus and Bible sprinkled in with the kind of self help that is about doing less not more, this is great.
I’m in the middle of a grief journey after losing a child so I really like the slow down, do less message of this book.

Historia
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

Historia
In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history. Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.

i don’t identify as a Britney fan, but left with much more compassion
Revisado: 10-25-23
I don’t identify as a big Britney fan. I’ve followed her story mostly in headlines over the years. This book made me feel so bad for the judgements I had about her, especially during her k-fed years and her breakdown. My heart hurts for the years she lost with her babies. I cannot believe a 5-6 month old was allowed to not be with his mom for anything more than hours. I’m surprised she’s not angrier, but happy for her that she seems to be healing. Glad I read this to give more context and compassion to her, and honestly, so many other celebrities from that era.

The move was an adventure that would bind them even more tightly together as they navigated the novelty of London, the culture clashes, and the funhouse experience of Rob’s fame—thanks to his role as co-creator and co-star of the hit series Catastrophe. as a parent who has lost…
Revisado: 01-04-23
this was touching. to the point and interesting to hear another person’s point of view, since nobody has the same experiences another person. teared me up a time or two. I think it’s a great book for dads who’ve lost a child, since there’s not as much out there on that! While I don’t have the same beliefs as him, for what happens after your child is gone, it was interesting to see someone come to peace, with a totally different set of beliefs. A good listen!

A nice cocktail of self help books with some real gems
Revisado: 10-27-19
I’m a self help book binger, this one was great. It pulled from lots of ideas I’d heard before but I enjoyed the reminder and hollis’s spin on them. She had a few real gems I really liked that seemed unique to her as well. It was a quick listen over about a week I’d recommend it for sure
