Scottsdale, Arizona, may not be the liveliest place on earth, but it's never been as dead as this. The first annual Old Town Zombie Walk is announced, and Mel, Angie, and the Fairy Tale Cupcake crew are donning their best undead attire to sell some horror-themed desserts to the hungry hordes. But fun turns to fright when Mel finds a real dead body in a prop casket outside of the bakery's truck - and the corpse looks alarmingly like a zombie of their own. Mel worries that someone near and dear was the real target.

A struggle to finish

This book was really hard to enjoy because the main character and her best friend make a lot of really stupid decisions that endanger themselves and others out of sheer stubbornness. Makes it really difficult to root for them.
On a technical level, the plot is a little unbelievable, the dialogue is klunky and all of these characters who are apparently in their 30s (?) behave really childishly. I would have believed they were all 16.
Will not be reading anything else from this author.

Loved this book

I debated if I should buy the physical book or the audio book and the audio book was definatly the right choice. I think having Cary Elwes reading the story to me, as it seemed, greatly enhanced my enjoyment of it. I loved all the insight and behind the scenes to the entire process of making The Princess Bride, which is one of my favorite films. If you like the Princess Bride, this is a must read and again, I would recommend the audio book for full enjoyment.
