Nice easy listening story
Revisado: 01-05-25
Lovely story about second chances. Teaches you that long held anger is worthless and sad that so much time is lost unnecessarily, Mist often it is because of misunderstanding, Sometimes the story you are so sure you know is only half the story.
Reader is very easy to listen to and the story never drags. You will enjoy it.

When, at age forty-six, Nancy Pelosi, mother of five, asked her youngest daughter if she should run for Congress, Alexandra Pelosi answered: “Mother, get a life!” And so Nancy did, and what a life it has been. In The Art of Power, Pelosi describes for the first time what it takes to make history—not only as the first woman to ascend to the most powerful legislative role in our nation, but to pass laws that would save lives and livelihoods, from the emergency rescue of the economy in 2008 to transforming health care.

Learn the inside story
Revisado: 11-04-24
Someone suggested I “read “ this I was hesitant. I always had great admiration of Nancy Pelosi, but not a fan. I have changed my mind. She is tough politically, but very kind personally with strong religious driven beliefs. I learned quite a bit on workings of congress of significant issues and happenings. You will throughly enjoy it. Enjoyed hearing her tell the story herself. One thing that I will say it is totally one sided. She gives very little credit to the Republican side.., but that is how she viewed the situations. Please “read”it.. you will enjoy it.

True to life story that will stay with you
Revisado: 07-26-24
Wonderful story of the forgotten nurses of Vietnam. If you were young during Vietnam as I was, you will learn a lot. The story will fill in the pieces of the world that was around you that you knew about but didn’t pay attention to. If you really remember Vietnam it will bring back memories. Highly recommend.

Spellbinding
Revisado: 05-17-24
There are many twists and turns. Many of the scenes I can picture having a strong medical background . I think it shows there is a calling to be involved in medical field. I throughly enjoyed the story. It is just the right length. I felt all the details of the story were developed appropriately and not over worked. It is a mystery story that just happens to involve a nurse not a nursing story that involves a mystery. Give it a try.

Great Suspenseful Story
Revisado: 03-13-24
I had seen the 2 sisters speak at a book festival in October so I wanted to read the story. There are twists you don’t expect. I don’t usually read mysteries but enjoyed it. Will read other from the sisters.

New information on Grant
Revisado: 02-09-24
Interesting some new history of Grant. I started with little knowledge. I found the story somewhat awkward going from “past” to “ current” time. Okay story not great but not suggesting to avoid the “book” just not the best I have read.

Beautiful Relaxing Christmas Story
Revisado: 01-11-24
With a crazy disturbing world all around a nice easy escape. The only thing I found to be an issue were the voices of the children. Too put on and squeaky. Still a nice escape for the holiday season.

Mrs. Post, the President and First Lady are here to see you. . . . So begins another average evening for Marjorie Merriweather Post. Presidents have come and gone, but she has hosted them all. Growing up in the modest farmlands of Battle Creek, Michigan, Marjorie was inspired by a few simple rules: always think for yourself, never take success for granted, and work hard—even when deemed American royalty, even while covered in imperial diamonds.

Great American Professional Success Story but Personal a different story
Revisado: 11-21-23
Great story of a woman who is able to take an idea started from her father to the every American kitchen table. As successful as she was professionally, personally not so much. Very interesting interactions with well known people whose names you will know from your own memory.

Better not to Have the Money
Revisado: 11-02-23
Long book but worth reading. Amazing how money corrupts. Even in the family people mistreat each other because of money. This story proves if money is your only goal in life, you are misguided.
There are a lot of names thrown around and difficult to follow at times who is who. A suggestion would be to have a glossary with names of who is who because unless you know Hollywood you can get lost .
Glad I don’t have money ( but maybe try it!)

Marie and Victoria do it again !!
Revisado: 09-03-23
This is an inspiring story of 2 strong women willing to fight for their core beliefs… everyone is equal. I learned so much again from Eleanor and Mary through the collaboration of Marie and Victoria. I guarantee you will see the world and history differently by the last page. Make sure you listen to the epilogue and authors comments, again you will learn great insights and important background of what goes into writing of the challenging topic. Great job!
