My personal world philosophy rests, nestled inside my seed of belief that there’s nothing more important in life, than learning. Every moment that we’re alive, we’re continually learning, whether it’s conscious or occurring somewhere under the surface. Education and learning are seemingly synonymous, but clearly not one and the same. Through his passion, curiosity and an unyielding commitment to learn for the betterment of our society, Ted Dintersmith makes a compelling effort to bridge the gap, in my opinion, between what our education system teaches and what’s most important for young minds to learn, in preparation for successful, productive, and compassionate adulthood.

In short, to answer the question the title poses, the simple answer is... anything.

Bernie represents what America aspires to be. His vision and actions run consistent with the ideals laid forth by our Founding Fathers in our Declaration and in the intended essence of our Constitution. He stands for the people. His message has forever colored the lens with which I view the world and the United States. Real, meaningful change is his aspiration and his footprints, still fresh, will forever be left in the soil of our consciousness. If not from the position of the presidency, he has and will continue to shape our democracy whether it be borne through the flesh of his own hands and the tenor of his voice, or through the inspiration sparked in another. His revolution. Our revolution.

Tomoguchi’s imagination is an oblivion unto itself. He whets one’s appetite with traces of a blood our curiosity desires, leading us as readers through an eternal labyrinth of love, deception, and despair.

To learn about life through the lens of death is profound, yet subtly obvious in hindsight. I’m grateful for the deep and innumerable insights Ostaseski has generously shared through his life experience and his intimate relationship with death.
