stressful interactions between the two main characters

Ugh! I just can't listen anymore. I really like the stories in this series, but the constant hateful bickering between the two main characters Cora and Selene are just stressing me out! I thought characters were supposed to evolve over time in a story, but these two are still acting the same as they were in the first book of the series. like I said, I really like the stories, but that interaction should change and get better over time, not stay the same.

I love Lindsay Buroker! She has to be one of the most clever writers of her time and of her genre. I always enjoy the stories she crafts. This is the first time I've heard Tavia Gilbert's narration, but I wish I could give her a 20 out of 10! She is fantastic!

Some unlikable things

I enjoyed the features that are classic Kristen Painter: surprising twists and unique characters and settings. However, I disliked several things that have already been mentioned by other reviewers: the way that Andi just takes it when Conn is so cruel and mean to her; why wouldn't she just give Conn some time to realize he was being a jerk; why was he so harsh? It felt like the personalities, emotions, and reactions were just not believable, but I won't give up on this series, yet.

Just couldn't listen any more - too depressing

Who really wants to listen to 38 hours inside the mind of a clearly depressed, haunted individual? It was too depressing to listen to.

Not enough good things happened

Like other reviewers, I tried to get through the 48 hours for one credit, but I just couldn't finish. The main character was too much of a jerk, and there wasn't enough strength and power in the "good" guys.

Violet's acting like a 14-year-old

I really love the story, the setting, the narrator, and most of the characters, but I'm annoyed with Violet continuing to keep her biggest secret from her "best friend" Natalie, like they are all teenagers. And, regarding her acknowledgement of the paranormal? She's acting like Scully. How much evidence and personal experience does she need? I'm only listening to the next book in the series because it's free; after that, I may be too annoyed to continue listening.

Tired of the drama.

I have listened to this series all in a row, and maybe that was a mistake. I'm so tired of the drama. It annoys me that Raven and Christian continue to engage with Lenore and Houdini. If they just wouldn't talk to them, they wouldn't satisfy their annoying dark personalities.

So boring

I don't know if it was the narrator or the story, but it was so boring and so monotone and so dull that I almost fell asleep trying to get through the first five or six chapters. Then I just finally gave up.

Clever!

I loved this story. It was brilliantly written. The narrator was very good, except a couple of the voices were so low volume that I kept having to turn the volume up, then when someone else spoke, it was so loud it blew out my ears. Otherwise, great story and performance.

Love it! Love it! Love it!

I love everything about this story. I like the honesty of the characters. I like that they don't keep silly secrets and hide their emotions. They lay it all out there and let things happen as they will. I like that all the good characters are fighting together against the evil. I also love the narrator! I have listened to several narrators that aren't that great, but she is awesome!
