Matching the quality of Ms. Brandner’s storytelling with a voice particularly suited to the characters and moods, Gary Furlong’s audio presentation is varied and evocative. It is seamless when characters voices change as he effortlessly converses and narrates, or becomes mystical as suits the beauty of the storytelling from old Irish or Russian folktales or Jungian hero journeys that allow us inside a tortured mind. The magical wonder of ancient places and timelessness of a struggle for survival are beautifully felt as love manifests in so many ways.
As I will, I am sure, listen again and again, each time the depth of the story will reveal even more understanding of how well crafted and engaging it is, and how well suited a tale it is for such a telling!

The story that I am already familiar with, having read the series twice, has a quality in the telling audibly that makes it feel more as if I'm immersed in it. I sometimes am conscious of it being told as a tale, as an Irish story might, but soon I am in a world of beauty, love and emotion and all types of fear, rage and hate . The descriptions are strikingly well composed and explanations of the situation are made to fit well within the story, while being quite balanced and reasonable for such a contentious subject.
