Historia
The four rules of freelance villainy are as follows: 1. Always wear a mask 2. Never hurt civilians 3. Never kill the heroes you’re paid to fight. 4. And the bad guy always loses. And the rules worked, until I had to take down the Heroes of Earth to get Psyren back. Now, I'm not only infamous, but have a mob of villains looking to join my 'evil' organization and take over the world. And that's the good news! The bad news is the second biggest villain on the planet wants to hire me to work a fight against his hero daughter.

Great Fun, But my least favorite
Revisado: 04-27-24
I enjoyed the new characters, but the constant complaining from the MC about everything is getting to me. I understand the point is to trivialize or show that the character is competent at whatever is sent his way, but nearly every encounter outside of doing his job. The MC has some sort of snarky responses, says f#^king hell, and then deals with the problem. Rinse, repeat.
What I do love about the MC is when he talks passionately about being the golden age comic book villain and feeding that fantasy to the general public. The new character he coaches leads to great banter. However it does make make Glacia a bit redundant since she was meant to be the upcoming villainess in the business of heroes and villains.
I hoped from Book 3 the CIA woman would be a major player in the heroes and villains business. So we can get an idea of what international heroes and villains are like in the setting.
I do appreciate the evolution of the guy doing his job and others imposing what they think he should be. I do like how the MC behaves as the reluctant hero.

I've made a good career following the rules and taking on superheroes in scripted fights. But I'd never dreamed it would end up with me dating two stunning supervillainess, getting a household death ray, and having a mad scientist living in my basement. But you roll with the punches in this business. Be it coaching yandere psychics on the art of villainous monologuing, sourcing costumes from busty demonic fashionistas, or taking down a superarms dealers trying to kidnap my mad scientist. One thing's for sure, there's never a dull moment being the bad guy.

Good Fun but Mediocre love scenes
Revisado: 08-20-23
I appreciate the world building.
The main character is fun when he is doing prep work as a villain but is overpowered during combat encounters. I would have preferred if there was a rival character or at least a significant villain to oppose the main character. So far, nearly every villain was able to be taken out by the MC's clearly better power and essentially not allow anyone to be a real threat. General Winter is the closest, but the previous book made it clear that the MC would've won.
As for the love scenes, while well acted. I feel like half were underwhelming. There isn't much of a series of styles between the women or them revealing their preferences with their partner. Siren and Carter have been the ones with the most memorable scenes.
Carter is the best woman of the bunch because she doesn't come off as a fan girl to the main character. Carter's atonomy and nefarious methods is what has her stand out the most. The MC and Carter share the same fiery passion toward the villain industry, and that is what they respect about each other and intense attraction.
While there was a scene of the other women being attracted to MC when he is passionate about villainy. I would feel like they don't have as compelling motivations.
I still really like this series. These are grips I have. The story is still a lot of fun and has more going on than other harem book franchises.

More entertaining Dungeon Floor than previous book. Has the best humor in the series so far. Several points had me laughing while commuting for work. Has best speech from Carl yet.

One bubble. Four castles. Fifteen days. Capture each one, and the stairwell is unlocked. Here's the thing. It's never easy. Carl and his team can't go it alone. Not this time. They must rely on the help of the low-level, I-can't-believe-these-idiots-are-still-alive crawlers trapped in the bubble with them. But can they be trusted?

Paint your toes. Pick up the wrong coffee and bagel order. Drive from Brooklyn to Jersey in traffic so slow you want to tear your hair out. It’s amazing all the useless things I can accomplish while on hold for three hours with customer service. Three hours when I should be getting the Date-in-a-Box website ready to launch at the big business expo in a few days. Except my shiny new website is glitching, and my inner rage-monster is ready to scorch some earth...when he finally picks up. Not the robot voice I expected but a real live human named Kal.

Feel Good Weekend

I loved the actors. Luci and Neil make it so much fun to listen.
There are these moments of excitement from Luci's character that makes it a joy to listen. Such as the self-annoyed groans from Vera.
Neil was great too.
