Historia
An unapologetic, deeply moving manual for parents of neurodivergent children from Heidi Mavir, a late-identified, neurodivergent adult and parent to an autistic/ADHD teenager. This updated edition includes information on Pathological Demand Avoidance, Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria, an interview with Heidi's son Theo and more. Follow Heidi's irreverent and brutally honest story of her fight to be seen, heard and supported, while swimming against a tide of parent blame, ableist stereotypes and the weight of other people’s opinions.

Love the cursing
Revisado: 07-15-24
This book was so inspiring and reassuring. It acknowledged our struggles. And the cursing made me feel like I had a friend talking to me.

Perspective
Revisado: 07-13-24
I had a passive and an emotionally immature parent. That creates 5 children who were all emotionally immature. I hope my new perspective on my life and family will carry me on to less depression.

Historia
How to Start a War is unlike any audiobook you’ve ever listened to. Adapted from the popular podcast miniseries of the same name, Michael Trapani immerses listeners in the dramatic events that led to the crime of the century – World War II and the Holocaust – documenting the actions of the criminals who carried it out. Listeners will feel like they are in the room as some of history’s most villainous characters plot to overthrow democracy, impose tyranny, and outmaneuver those who had the power to stop them.

I highly recommend you listen to this book because it really cements the ominous fear of history repeating itself. Sooo soo good.

I Wanted to Like This Book
Revisado: 01-31-20
I felt like this could have been a great book, but I’m not Christian, and all the Christ-stuff I’ve found too distracting, not allowing me to focus on the stated message of the book. I felt like I was in a sermon, with quoting too many “New Testament” bible verses, as it seems like one would need a Christian bible to follow along.
I couldn’t keep going after two chapters.
