Historia
The correspondence between Carrie Allsop and David Mayer reveals, piece by piece, the painful details of a devastating affair between their spouses. With each commiserating scratch of the pen, they confess their fears and bare their souls. They share the bewilderment over how things went so wrong and come to wonder where to go from here. Told entirely through the letters of two comforting strangers and those of two illicit lovers, Evidence of the Affair explores the complex nature of the heart. And ultimately, for one woman, how liberating it can be when it’s broken.

Not my Favorite Story
Revisado: 05-18-23
The story was short and held my interest but I didn’t love it in the way I love many of the books from this author.

Historia
Marie-Laure lives with her father in Paris near the Museum of Natural History, where he works as the master of its thousands of locks. When she is six, Marie-Laure goes blind and her father builds a perfect miniature of their neighborhood so she can memorize it by touch and navigate her way home. When she is 12, the Nazis occupy Paris and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great-uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel.

Amazing Story Works Better in Print
Revisado: 02-19-23
I loved the story and I loved the performance of the narrator. I appreciated that he didn’t fake a woman’s voice when reading the lines of female characters, he just spoke more gently.
The book jumps around in time quite a lot, making it difficult to follow on audio. I read the book partly on audio and partly on my Kindle and found I had to go back in chapters and reread some key parts I missed in the audio version.
I thought it was a beautiful story about courage, love and relationships. I loved the characters and their development. I felt the writing gave wonderful details that helped create the scenes in my mind.
I highly recommend the book, but the print version is more satisfying to read.

Why the hype? Terrible book.
Revisado: 12-17-22
Conceptually the plot sounded promising, but the execution flopped. First, I hated all of the characters except the innocent child. Second, the sex scenes lacked any romance or intimacy and were just cringeworthy to listen to. Third, the writing was terrible. I don’t understand all the 4-5 star reviews or the best-seller list status. Just why?

Historia
Sophie Beckett never dreamed she'd be able to sneak into Lady Bridgerton's famed masquerade ball - or that Prince Charming would be waiting there for her! Though the daughter of an earl, Sophie has been relegated to the role of servant by her disdainful stepmother. But now, spinning in the strong arms of the debonair and devastatingly handsome Benedict Bridgerton, she feels like royalty. Alas, she knows all enchantments must end when the clock strikes midnight.

Entertaining for a road trip but disappointing
Revisado: 04-06-22
I bought this book to kill time on a road trip after watching two seasons of Bridgerton. Usually the books are better than the screen version but if this book is a fair representation of the series, I would say the screen version is much better.
My main issues with this story were (1) Sophie’s circumstances are almost identical to Cinderella’s - father dies leaving her to be a slave to an evil stepmother with two step sisters, attends a ball and catches the attention of the most eligible bachelor, (2) Benedict is written to be very unlikeable in this story, very pushy and disrespectful of Sophie’s wishes, and (3) the manner in which the author ties up the ending was unsatisfying.
Overall, the book served my purpose of making a long drive feel shorter. However, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone and I would never reread it. I hope the television version of this book will improve on the character development and story line.

#TheSnowballSystem Great for Lawyers Growing their Practices
Revisado: 11-05-18
As a business development professional responsible for training lawyers on sales skills, I have found that most sales methodologies miss the mark for the professional who needs to sell and then deliver his or her expertise.
The Snowball System is the first methodology I have found that resonates with the attorneys I support and debunks their previously believed sales myths.
If you are a professional who shutters when you hear the word "sales," especially when uttered in the same sentence as the phrase "key to your success," then The Snowball System is for you. Mo Bunnell shares the methodology that he developed and refined after business development became critical to his own career success. Mo builds a convincing case that to succeed at sales you only need to be good at learning. Whether you are an actuary, attorney, accountant or architect, applying the methodology outlined in The Snowball System will yield results and grow your practice.
