Loved it!
Revisado: 10-06-23
I really liked this book. I’m a fan of Celina’s and was excited to find out she is an author. This is the first book of hers I have read and the only thing that disappointed me was that it was so short. Otherwise I loved the details and suspense that was built. I will definitely be checking out her other books. 🖤

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Absolutely loved it!

This has been on my “to read” list for awhile now… I’m so glad I finally got around to it. Such a beautiful story. Even though you kinda know the ending that’s coming, it still doesn’t disappoint. The characters are wonderfully complex and fleshed out, flawed and perfect. It’s not often that an audio book makes me cry, but this one got to me. The narrators were wonderful, beautifully done with inflection, emotion, accents, everything. Highly recommend this story, whether audio book or physical copy. 💛 🐙

Historia
Nina is a Lipan girl in our world. She's always felt there was something more out there. She still believes in the old stories. Oli is a cottonmouth kid, from the land of spirits and monsters. Like all cottonmouths, he's been cast from home. He's found a new one on the banks of the bottomless lake. Nina and Oli have no idea the other exists. But a catastrophic event on Earth, and a strange sickness that befalls Oli's best friend, will drive their worlds together in ways they haven't been in centuries.

Wonderful story and characters

I really enjoyed this book. My first by Darcie Little Badger. The story was rich and the characters lovable and well fleshed out. A great blend of modern day problems /situations and a cultural history / lore. Will definitely recommend to others and look forward to reading more by the author.
