Historia
Eight years after their ship crash-landed, the colonists from Earth have learned to survive on another world. Despite the relative harmony of the colony, Galena remains a treacherous place. The oceans are ruled by massive aquatic beasts that restrict the survivors to their farms and the lands beyond...where other dangers lurk. A chance recovery of multipurpose space suits in a salvage crate and an unnatural tunnel leading away from the colony unlock a pathway to exploring the forbidden oceans, where an amazing discovery awaits.

Clumsiest set of characters ever
Revisado: 10-02-23
Samual Best needs to learn how to write without having each and every character tripping and falling with more cuts and slashes. It was comical as I started counting but painful once I lost count.
Also, the tie in to his other series would be better if we could have known before buying this second book.
Narration was wonderful!

Historia
An alien ship rests over Water Island. For five years, the people of the US Virgin Islands have lived with the Ynaa, a race of super-advanced aliens on a research mission they will not fully disclose. They are benevolent in many ways but meet any act of aggression with disproportional wrath. This has led to a strained relationship between the Ynaa and the local Virgin Islanders, and a peace that cannot last.

Historia
Shroud of Eternity picks up where Terry Goodkind's New York Times bestseller Death's Mistress left off, promising a thrilling brew of bloodshed, sex, deception, and sorcery. The formidable sorceress Nicci and her companions - the newly powerless Nathan and the youthful Bannon - set out on another quest after driving ruthless Norukai slavers out of Renda Bay. Their mission: restore Nathan's magic and, for Nicci, save the world.

I am not coming back
Revisado: 05-08-18
I have followed Terry Goodkind since Wizards First Rule. I have enjoyed the Sword of Truth series. While Goodkind has always been a little wordy, this book was over the top. Repeating something a couple times to get the point across makes sense. Repeating something 10-20 times is insulting. This book could have been half its size.
It was also super obvious how this book would end. No twist or surprises. You knew from the beginning what would happen. There are so many half plots unresolved. They set this up for the obvious next book but I will not go there.

Historia
When a sudden impact sends a spacecraft bound for a distant research station hurtling toward a previously unseen and inexplicable planet, responsibility for the safety of its passengers immediately falls on Ivy 'Holly' Wood, a former poster child of the public space program now fleeing Earth's tyrannical leadership. The mysterious planet's startlingly Earth-like atmosphere initially breeds optimism among Holly's group of stranded survivors, but before long it becomes clear that Earth's rules don't apply.

High School attempt
Revisado: 07-06-17
This story line plodded along with dialogue that would never happen between adults. There was a big bad villain but he was never there. The kids knew as much as the adults and the adults needed help. Bad interaction between characters

Historia
It was supposed to be an easy job: find the Dark Star Revolution Starships, destroy them, and go home. But a booby-trapped vessel decimates the Meridian Alliance fleet, leaving Serengeti - a Valkyrie class warship with a sentient AI brain - on her own, wrecked and abandoned in an empty expanse of space. On the edge of total failure, Serengeti thinks only of her crew. She herds the survivors into a lifeboat, intending to sling them into space. But the escape pod sticks in her belly, locking the cryogenically frozen crew inside.

Mary Poppins as a war commander
Revisado: 02-01-17
The first part of this story was written very well and kept me intrigued throughout. Somewhere along the storyline the Warship's AI changed personalities into a mid-century British nanny. Too many references and input from a human thought and limitations. Again, the story was a good one which held me till the end but I gritted my teeth in the second half.
Not sure if I will follow the series if there is one.

Historia
A young, naïve but ultimately courageous hedge knight, Ser Duncan the Tall towers above his rivals—in stature if not experience. Tagging along is his diminutive squire, a boy called Egg—whose true name is hidden from all he and Dunk encounter. Though more improbable heroes may not be found in all of Westeros, great destinies lay ahead for these two . . . as do powerful foes, royal intrigue, and outrageous exploits. Featuring more than 160 all-new illustrations by Gary Gianni, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a must-have collection that proves chivalry isn’t dead—yet.

Too many names and places to keep up with but that's the same on GOT. I like the back story from the lower end. I look forward to the next but would rather have the next GOT first.
