Historia
By day, 17-year-old Kiera Johnson is an honors student, a math tutor, and one of the only black kids at Jefferson Academy. But at home, she joins hundreds of thousands of black gamers who duel worldwide as Nubian personas in the secret multiplayer online role-playing card game Slay. When a teen in Kansas City is murdered over a dispute in the Slay world, news of the game reaches mainstream media, and Slay is labeled a racist, exclusionist, violent hub for thugs and criminals. Even worse, an anonymous troll infiltrates the game.

I loved it!
Revisado: 06-27-23
I wish I had a story like this when I was a teen. It reminded me of how innovative and creative young people can be when given the freedom to do. I was annoyed by Kiera’s insistence on holding on to her relationship but then I had to realize how many times I refused to see red flags when presented.
I am sharing this story with every you black woman I know!

The author has a wonderful way of writing and I will consider reading her other works but this book, I couldn't finish. It was a hard read full of misery and pain. I just couldn't continue it.

The book was just meh
Revisado: 03-05-15
It was a pretty good story. It wasn't interest enough to make me want to read more in the series. I think it was a little to juvenile a story for me (and I adore YA novels). Maybe the characters weren't interesting. I think I would have liked June brother as a character but he did too early. I also knew where the story was going so I checked out about halfway through.

Love this Series!
Revisado: 04-16-13
I love Cinder. I'm a huge Sci-fi fan so mixing my love for fairy tales and Sci-fi was perfect. Scarlet was just as good as Cinder, more love story than sci-fi. Wolf was dark and intriguing of course but my favorite character ended up being Captain Thorne. He brought much amusement to the story. I do hope the next book has more Cinder, as that is who I read and reread the first book for.

Series I will read to the end
Revisado: 04-16-13
I just finished On Basilisk Station and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I love Honor Harrington and her indomitable character. I can't wait to read the next installment and with the sale I can buy the next two in the series. I was at times dragged down buy the long, specific descriptions and almost gave up of the book in the first three chapters. I kept going and am glad I did because Honor won me over.
I would recommend this book to anyone, especially those who love a great, strong female lead and any science fiction fans.

Good Story
Revisado: 01-22-13
The third book in the series didn't disappoint. I found that it wasn't as suspenseful as the first two in the series. At this point I just wish there was an ending in sight. I know the 5th book is due out later this year. I probably won't read anymore until I find out if this is the last one. I just want it to end, Unlike Pretty Little Liars, which I read the first eight excitedly, then she ended up coming out with a whole bunch more.

Tv show to Books
Revisado: 01-17-13
I started watching the show and was delighted to find out that this was written by Pretty Little Liars author Sara Shepard. I enjoyed the first book and find that it is more interesting than the show. I like the Sutton as a ghost dynamic, watching over Emma's moves. I can't wait to find out who the killer is.

A suprising Gem
Revisado: 01-17-13
I downloaded this book not knowing what to expect. I had an extra credit and nothing on my wish list. I'm so glad I got it! This was an amazing story about the possibilities of us harming our world beyond repair. In the midst of it is a young lady that still had to deal with puberty, growing up and distancing parents. This was a very refreshing young adult novel.
