Enlightening
Revisado: 01-11-23
The author’s account of Lincoln’s journey and conduct of the war. Presented facts and a point of view that I wasn’t very well aware of before reading this book.

Historia
Patricia Campbell's life has never felt smaller. Her ambitious husband is too busy to give her a goodbye kiss in the morning, her kids have their own lives, her senile mother-in-law needs constant care, and she's always a step behind on thank-you notes and her endless list of chores. The one thing she has to look forward to is her book club, a close-knit group of Charleston women united by their love of true crime and paperback fiction. At these meetings they're as likely to talk about the Manson family as they are marriage, motherhood, and neighborhood gossip.

Superior Read
Revisado: 08-24-22
When I started this book it would similar to others horror stories. In some ways it was. However, in many important ways it wasn’t. I had never read an account w where vampires were so ingrained in the community. Where so many of the husbands refused to see beyond their own selfish financial profiteering. Where the mothers finally took action because they realized their own children were at risk. I suppose this is all human nature. We don’t nearly as much about others as we do ourselves or our offspring. Even that concern seems to be a female trait more than a male trait.
This book was a superior read for and I for all who read it.
