Historia
When Hanlon is suspended from the force for assaulting a suspect, she escapes to the remote Scottish island of Jura, home to the mysterious Corryvreckan whirlpool. But wherever Hanlon goes, violence is sure to follow. As soon as she checks into The Mackinnon Arms, Hanlon senses something isn't quite right about the staff at her home for the week. Sure enough, within days of arriving, the body of a member of staff is found floating in the sea. While police believe she was claimed by the local whirlpool, Hanlon isn't so sure.

stuff is missing and boring
Revisado: 07-23-23
I struggled with this one. I read all the DCI Hanlin books and liked them. The narrator and the characters kept you involved. So I read this thinking that it would be connected to that series. It isn't, the author ruined her. This narrator just makes the story drag. I was really disappointed.

Just when I thought life might be getting back to normal—normal being a relative word—I couldn’t have been more wrong. Marriage proposal from the Grim Reaper? Yes. Beautiful healthy baby? Yes. Friends and family safe? Yes. Ghost of my worst enemy sitting on my front porch? OMG. Yep. With the ghostly world imploding around me, I’m going to need more than superglue to repair it.

I enjoy the books, but...
Revisado: 01-05-23
I enjoy her books, but the fact that she spends a chapter or two repeating the previous book is annoying. It kind of seems like an excuse to be able to write multiple books. I mean if you spend 2 chapters just repeating the last chapters of the previous book, you have less of a story to come up with.
Just my personal opinion

great story ending leaves you wanting
Revisado: 10-21-22
she is a very talented writer, I have read multiple of her her books and they all do the same thing. They get you hooked with details and set up, and the endings fall flat. As if it is a rush. Which is disappointing, all the ground work has been layed down then it's like the end. I keep going well is there another book? Is it a series? Yet, I keep reading her books even though.

not the same as the first 2 books
Revisado: 04-22-22
I have been struggling to listen to this audible. I have finally given up, couldn't get through half of it. I don't get it the first two series the characters were likable, the story kept you intrigued. This book those same characters their personalities are different and they come off as unlikable. The story just dragged and dragged. I made it to chapter 20 and couldn't take anymore. It is as if someone else wrote the book. I really like this series and really liked Zo but this book is bad.
