The book brought good trips, experiences, and people from my own travels. I look forward to more, from Rick and from myself.

Well presented, but too complex to listen to rather than read

Masterful

An intricate saga of a stolen masterpiece, Russian oligarchs, a brilliant beautiful thief as Olan’s partner, suspenseful operations in the heart of the Kremlin, and a military operation as the climax. A superb spy thriller.

Magnificent

The prose is sculptured and moving in its rendering of this powerful saga.. Stegner has written an epic of an historic time and place, and a timeless story of human tragedy.

The first chapters were terrific, then it Bame boring

The chapters about the young boy and his uncle, a combat veteran with issues, were excellent. But at some point the book shifted to the making of a motion picture, and this became much too much about too little. Ultimately disappointing, even though I’ve always liked Tom Hanks.

Don’t bother. The book consists of multiple descriptions of clothes, jewelry, weapons ect. And very little plot. The sultans wife hardly exists

Marvelous

Brings Nelson Mandela back to us. So important to recall his life and the gréât victory of freedom in South Africa. This is especially so as his beloved ANC is beset by indecision, division, and corruption. May we all take his model and example to heart.

Louise Penny has developed into a master

This intricate interwoven tale builds in its complexity and suspense into the final chapters which grip one totally. Louise Penney has grown from a wonderful mystery writer into a master. Don’t miss the experience of going on the ultimate journey of Inspector Gamache against the complex driving insanity and evil of John Fleming.
