Historia
When the cosmic fabric separating the dimensions rips open and spits the inhabitants of Purgatory into the small, west Texas town of Eden, the initial rip is so forceful it kills everyone and everything that isn’t underground. The only thing that saves 14-year-old Jack is that he just happened to be in the school basement at the time.

an outstanding read!

when I first started this book I thought oh well this is going to be a youth dystopian book. but it sounds okay so I'll give it a try.
oh no, when you get into the book it's for all ages.
the references to Christian songs, old rock, old country, etc. makes this book amazing.
you feel like you're on the journey. this author has one heck of an imagination and outstanding ability to write. I highly recommend this author.

Historia
Vampires have always lived in Eastern Europe. But with the fall of the Soviet Union, they began to spread across the continent, then the world, turning whole populations into vampires - or human cattle. Having overrun India, the far East, and the great cities of North and South America, the forces of Night are now spreading into the countryside to consolidate their conquest.

A gentle story

Struggled to listen to the first couple hours.
I think it is a book that those who dream of Nashville will listen too and think they may be hearing how things are really done.
But the mystery and drama are slow to evolve. The narrator who does the voice of Annie Leigh is awesome.
Dolly Parton is always a joy.

Historia
With every day that passes, Dust is more afraid of what he will become. His powers are growing far beyond what he can predict, and he is reluctant to tell his make-shift family that he isn't sure when - or if - it will ever stop. His goal is to get to Portland, Oregon, and find his aunt and uncle. Ideally he would get there alone, because he's far too much of a danger to the people around him, but they aren't willing to give up on him, and an old enemy isn't far behind.

Historia
When Cornish Nurse Eliza Hamilton is mugged on her way home from work late one evening, it is the mysterious Roman Holbrook who appears from the darkness and fights off her strange attacker. Then he disappears into the night before the police arrive, leaving a semi-conscious Eliza questioning if he was, in fact, a figment of her imagination. That is until he shows up on her doorstep one rainy night - and all hell breaks loose again. But is this man her hero, or does he have a more sinister motive for wanting her kept alive?

good read!
Revisado: 12-08-21
this is a hard book to review. For one the narration is awesome. For two the storyline is good. But it kind of lacks focus. It could be a zombie book for a tween or it could be the beginning of an adult series. the explicit sex scenes aren't needed.
I think the author is a great storyteller.
I think as she develops the characters and goes on with the rest of the series it will grow. But for the first one it just needs some finesse.
Well worth your time and well worth a read.

It's worth a read. Narrator is great!
Revisado: 10-12-20
Concept is general. Author tries to include too many main points leaving out specifics. For example, If Jack is a nature buff and preparing as preppers do, he would learn to shoot first of all. For the simple reason to kill for food. So the whole concept of him not knowing how to load a gun doesn't fit with the concept of being a prepper.
