this may be my favorite book

the way this plays like a movie only adds to an already phenomenal story. I love the characters and the voice actors all fit them so well. I'm obsessed and cannot wait to read more but I already know I'll listen to this one again!

Beautiful, raw and inspiring

I had no idea what to expect from this as I got this free from my monthly credits and it sounded good. I'm officially a Margaret Trudeau fan. She doesn't hold back and tells it how it is. this was a quick and fantastic listen that I've already recommend to a handful of people.

Pretty intense for the age group

The main character is 16 yet the whole plot is about her being in a war and trying to murder someone. This book was much less graphic than the previous ones prior but parents beware that you may want to read prior to your young reader. I enjoyed the chapters that were from Dorothy's perspective and wish she would have written like this in the other books. It helped to round out the characters more than the others books did. This book wrapped up the series quite well and had a good ending.

A bit too gory and sadistic for young adult

I really like the overall storyline and the premise. I think there are a lot of very interesting characters that the author does not give enough detail to. I think there is way too much time spent on the gory details of the non-stop battles. This book was a little bit sadistic and twisted and a few times I almost gave up reading it because it was just a necessarily over-the-top. the author describes some very gruesome fight scenes and when you think about the main character being 16 it's pretty messed up. I would have rather got any more personality out of other characters or more history on Oz .

There is potential for the series but there is way too much made up military jargon that takes away from the story line. I found myself struggling to follow along with the lingo and losing what was actually going on in the story.
