Historia
When America entered World War II, Ernie Pyle followed the soldiers into the trenches. Long before television and the internet beamed combat footage directly to us, his dispatches from the front lines augmented the coverage of the war’s politics, strategies, and macro-level mobilizations to give the American public what he called his “worm’s-eye view” of the day-to-day life of the war.

Incredible
Revisado: 07-19-23
This was a moving story of the brave service men of all ranges of the war..the humble and brave. Well read and sensitively. I’m so glad it was unabridged and made available to these generations.

Historia
The liberation of Europe and the destruction of the Third Reich is a story of courage and enduring triumph, of calamity and miscalculation. In this first volume of the Liberation Trilogy, Rick Atkinson shows why no modern learner can understand the ultimate victory of the Allied powers without a grasp of the great drama that unfolded in North Africa in 1942 and 1943. That first year of the Allied war was a pivotal point in American history, the moment when the United States began to act like a great power.

Informative and well presented.
Revisado: 06-07-23
Excellent background to the unfolding War. I’m impressed how well the author bound together both facts and persons. And George Guidell is a master presenter. Moving on now to books Two and Three.

A bit annoying
Revisado: 06-22-21
Fair story line but distracting narration. Long loud breathing between sentences. Possibly better editing is needed.

Tedious but Excellent

A bit tedious at first but well worth finishing. The reader is very good..he pulls you in smoothly. I recommend this to those familiar to Le Carre’s style.
