Revisado: 02-15-23
I loved the first half, but as it moves into the pop culture discussion it was predictable.

Very good!
Revisado: 11-19-22
Easy to listen to. The second half is more thorough than I expected. I wish they would help the readers with pronunciation. Many yoga books have strange pronunciation of names and Sanskrit words. I liked the reader’s overall style, voice, and cadence, not his fault.

So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

I wasn’t sure I wanted to spend a lot of time on a book about astrology, but this caught my eye and it was free with my membership. I actually loved it. Short sweet and filled with positivity. I may even go back through it as part of my daily meditations.

Goldsmith implores listeners to avoid the Great Western Disease of “I’ll be happy when. . . .” He offers practical advice and exercises aimed at helping us shed the obstacles, especially the failures of imagination, that prevent us from creating our own fulfilling lives. With this book as their guide, listeners can close the gap between what they plan to achieve and what they actually get done—and avoid the trap of existential regret, the kind that reroutes destinies and persecutes our memories.

Historia
Bill Bryson once again proves himself to be an incomparable companion as he guides us through the human body - how it functions, its remarkable ability to heal itself, and (unfortunately) the ways it can fail. Full of extraordinary facts (your body made a million red blood cells since you started reading this) and irresistible Bryson-esque anecdotes, The Body will lead you to a deeper understanding of the miracle that is life in general and you in particular. As Bill Bryson writes, "We pass our existence within this wobble of flesh and yet take it almost entirely for granted."

Good, but not his best
Revisado: 01-18-22
I think if you’re new to learning about your body this is an incredibly interesting and approachable book. If you’re very experienced with anatomy and physiology, it’s still fun, but Bryson’s a walk in the woods or Home are much more funny. Not even Bill Bryson can avoid the droll of human anatomy, piece by piece.

Historia
Smarter investment strategies that perform better than a 401(K). Not many people like to talk about taxes. It’s a dirty word that represents the heavy chain of government around our necks, regardless of what neighborhood we live in. We work our entire lives to provide for our families and, hopefully, have enough left over to retire for a few years before we die. Great strategy, eh? Even if taxes turn your stomach, you owe it to yourself and your family to learn smarter investment strategies. This is the goal of Optimizing the Tax Code.

Its a commercial for the author’s radio show, not useful
Revisado: 12-14-21
Let me save you an hour and an audible credit… The complete summary: the government is a bunch of criminals who want to tax you twice. There are useful legal loopholes I can tell you about to save more of your hard earned money, but I cant tell you about it here because I didn’t want to write an actually useful or informative book. Instead, listen to my conservative/libertarian radio show, and please tell your friends to listen also. Finally, oil and gas are the only way to take advantage of legal tax advantages. I’d like to thank my two best friends who have been so loyal to me and are great family men. My own family doesn’t mean that much to me though. God bless the military.

Overall really inspiring
Revisado: 09-19-18
I got a lot out of Rachel's book. It was inspiring, and even though I'm not Christian and got pretty sick of hearing how Christian she was throughout the book, she had good points about making actionable changes in your life. She had good points about negative or diminutive self talk, limiting beliefs about ourselves, all kinds of stuff. It's easy to listen to and really makes anything seem possible. Thanks Rachel for putting yourself out there. One criticism- she makes herself sound relatable by using severe self criticism, which is annoying and doesn't sound authentic. Also, this is exactly the behavior she tells us not to use on ourselves...
