The narrator was perfect. The emotions that it generated me left me sad somehow.. congratulations to the author for exploring those feelings.. The book is well worse to read. Hope to hear more from him.

Hey, Siri weird story

It was a very strange story, but well worth the read. The narrator was perfect for this type of book. The timeframe was just so unusual. It was hard to keep up sometimes.

My only disappointment with this book is that Bill O’Reilly did not narrate it. I truly missed his voice.
The other gentleman did fine, but nothing is like O’Reilly’s voice relating to these historical novels.

Wow!!!!!

This book is now one of my favourite books of all time. I am now on my third listen. The story is an original concept and expertly laid out. Ann writes her characters beautifully and of course Meryl brings them to life. kudos to both ladies for bringing 12 hours of joy into my life.

More than I expected

I thought I would be reading a book that the movie was based on. I got so much more. I an education of the fishing industry, and what those men and their wives go through. I highly recommend this book.

Hard to listen to

As an elderly, white woman, I struggled with this. I put it down and picked it up a couple of times. I was raised without prejudice. I never in my life, in my home, heard derogatory statement about any race. But really for the first time in my life, I truly understand the struggle that Black people have suffered. Thank you Billy Porter for bringing this knowledge to me. I highly recommend this memoir to anyone brave enough to read it.

Is Tom Hanks. What can you say?

Tom Hanks is turning into as good an author as he is an actor. The plot was original and very interesting. This is the book that I will read again and enjoy again. Congratulations time. Job well done.

These guys really know how to put some words together. And I only found them a couple years ago and I’ve managed to read. I think everything they’ve written. It’s all entertaining and exciting. Keep up the good work guys. We love you.

A must read again

I was born in 1943, during the war. My father was based in Florida working for some general. My dad and his buddy tried to get transferred to Europe. The general said no and promoted them to sergeant instead. Reading this book made me realize what they may have faced. I am pleased he stayed home to be my father. But oh so proud of all the men who fought in World War Two. We can only hope and pray that this country can once again produce such an amazing generation but it has to start with our political leaders. I am afraid all hope is lost.

Please stop the background noise

I always enjoy Nicholas Sparks books. The background music and sound effects were so annoying I almost didn’t finish it. The story was good as always but from now on I will listen to the sample to be sure there is none of the background noise. Your stories are always so sweet and wonderful and do not need that kind of support.
