Way too long for such a boring story
Revisado: 07-19-22
This was quite a disappointment. I only forced myself to finish it because I paid for the audiobook.
The characters were flat, no chemistry. The narrative dragged with so much fillers it became unbearable at times. The secrecy on building up for the climax made the reveal even more disappointing. This could have been a much shorter book.

Historia
Leaving one widow behind is unfortunate. Leaving three widows behind is just plain despicable. Oil heiress Kate Steele knew her not-so-dearly departed husband was a con man, but she's shocked that Conrad racked up two more wives without divorcing her first. The only remnant of their miserable marriage she plans to keep is their lakeside cabin in Bootleg, Texas. Unfortunately, she's not the only woman with that idea.

Boring

I am not even sure what made me finish it. The characters were flat, the story boring and uneventful. Not my cup of tea. Too corny...

wow
Revisado: 04-14-17
The epilogue was... wow. I suspected in the beginning that Nancy was the girl but when everything ended up falling into places I thought maybe I saw too much into it, but I was right! It was her all along.
Loved the story, slow paced but very good

Historia

Lots of sex, very little character development
Revisado: 11-04-16
Well, if you want a story that is 70% sex and very little dialogue, this is the book for you. I think up until the airplane scene they barely exchanged more than 2 sentences to each other. He hated her and she hated him based on their lack of interaction over the course of 9 months, then they can't look at each other without screwing like rabbits.
At first I could not see any chemistry between them, did not really get the panties fetiche at all. The end was quite cheesy and reminded me a bit of the beginning of Tamed.

Quite predictable

The story is very slow pace. Quite predictable though, I wouldnt have been surprise if Sarah had been responsible for Cat's son's death too... that would have been even creepier.

Cheesy and repetitive
Revisado: 02-20-16
The plot was ok and the narrators did a good job in trying to keep it exciting but this story was way too cheesy, he was "oh too perfect" and she was oh "the most beautiful woman I have ever seen" was repeated so many times I was just rolling my eyes... She was the smartest woman of all (they barely exchanged a few sentences! and judging by the type of women he described hanging out with, he would think one of the housewives of atlanta was smart too).
There were too many estereotypes and lack of character development... the sexual tension was over done and the back and forth of "he is a player, i was abused and im damaged but can barely restrain myself in front of this man" made the story shallow and unappealing.

Historia
When spontaneous and carefree meets cautious and responsible, falling in love can get just a little Twisted
There are two kinds of people in this world: the ones who look first, and the ones who leap. I’ve always been more of a looker. A planner. Cautious. Then I met Drew Evans. He was so persistent. So sure of himself. He made it easy to leap with him.
Did you think Drew and I were going to ride off into the sunset and live happily ever after? So did I. But life is about choices, and Drew already made his. In fact, he tried to decide for the both of us—but you know that’s not my style. So I came back to Greenville, to spend some time alone . . . sort of.
Because old habits die hard, and sometimes you have to go back to where you began before you can move ahead again.

Made me cry and cracked me up
Revisado: 02-05-16
It was a bit frustrating that most of the story was just a circumventing around the huge misunderstanding and their assumptions... when I was getting to the point of disappointment she finally said the word baby... omg did she have to get to 80% of the story to verbalize that to whom it really mattered?! so, although I thought the story had its funny, witty and very emotional moments, I really think the misunderstanding took too much of the story for such a short period of time it took for them to get to talk... Maybe a longer span of time, she getting to do stuff on her own and work on herself in the meantime instead of just getting stoned and drunk which was quite unnecessary.

Arghh I wish I had not listened to the prologue
Revisado: 02-03-16
I have no respect for cheaters and I almost gave up half way thru this story but I pressed on and was wishing that in the end it had been just flirting, that perhaps they had come to their senses and really decided not to go further... I'm not sure I agree with Claire's sister's opinion that it would be better not to know, even if things ended up not working out after all something of that magnitude that affects the way I see someone and our relationship, I think I have a right to know. I wish the story had ended when Tristan deleted that last message, really. The prologue just made me confirm that men cannot and will not be faithful when push comes to shove...
