Revisado: 07-09-15
What did you love best about Fire In My Ears?
Listening to the narrator play so many different characters seamlessly.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Fire In My Ears?
Any time Mary, the grandmother, told her stories. I felt like I was listening alongside Sarah.
Which character – as performed by Rachel F. Hirsch – was your favorite?
Mary. I really liked the accent the narrator used for her. It sounded authentic.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It's a long book, so of course I needed plenty of breaks, but it kept my interest and I listened through really quickly.
Any additional comments?
Loved the book and the narration! I read the print copy of this book as well and loved it so much that I wanted to try out the audiobook. Listening to it enhanced the experience for me because it helped bring a clearer picture of these characters to my mind. I hope to see more books from Susan Schneider soon.

Loved the story but not the narration!
Revisado: 03-25-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely, especially anyone who grew up with immigrant grandparents. It brought me back to my childhood, and I'm sure it will for other listeners who grew up similarly.
What other book might you compare The Boston Girl: A Novel to and why?
FIRE IN MY EARS by Susan Schneider, and ELIZABETH STREET by Laurie Fabiano. These two books tell immigrant stories as well and what life was like for them once they moved. They also cover how their emigration affected their future families.
What three words best describe Linda Lavin’s voice?
Monotone. And. Dry.
Any additional comments?
While I do likeoLinda Lavin as an actress, I wasn't a fan of her narration in this book and would have preferred a more lively narrated. However I really loved the book and would like to listen to more stories like this.

Confused and bewildered, yet entertained.
Revisado: 03-25-15
Would you listen to Twisted Fate again? Why?
I would, if only to better understand the ending. I also really enjoyed the various narrators and would love to listen to them again.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Tate. I was really intrigued by her. She is independent, curious, and complicated. I wanted to know what she was going to do next.
Which scene was your favorite?
When she discovers Graham's secret.
Any additional comments?
This story is really complicated, and the final chapter is hard to understand. Even so, it holds your attention the whole time and is really entertaining.

Big fan!
Revisado: 03-25-15
What did you love best about Imprisoned?
It kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Imprisoned?
The whole premise- the idea that it is illegal to be overweight in this alternate universe and that Morgan unexpectedly gets stuck there. I am so curious how the author came up with the idea!
Which scene was your favorite?
The climax of the story (which I won't give away) was exactly what I had hoped for and really exciting to listen to.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, definitely! I couldn't wait to hear the outcome.
Any additional comments?
It was recommended that read/listen to GONE prior to IMPRISONED. I'm glad I did because it would have been difficult to follow the storyline of this book otherwise. Also, listening to GONE and IMPRISONED made me want to read the third book in the trilogy HUNTED. There isn't an audiobook of this yet, so I read the actual book. I look forward to listening to the audiobook version when it comes out! I hope Rachel F. Hirsch narrates that one as well, as I enjoyed her work in IMPRISONED very much.

Great little love story!
Revisado: 03-25-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely! And have. It's a great little love story, and Rachel F. Hirsch's narration makes each character seem so interesting that all you want to do is keep listening.
What other book might you compare The Ice Captain's Daughter to and why?
It's a TV series, but I would definitely compare this to Downton Abbey. Like the show, you get a behind the scenes look at the British Aristocracy and their help.
Which scene was your favorite?
Without giving too much away, the hero rescues the heroine when she is set-up by jealous peers resulting in a very uncomfortable, and potentially dangerous, situation. I was rooting for the couple through the whole book.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. And it is only 3 hours long, so it goes fast. I couldn't stop listening. I took it with me from the car, to the house, etc. until it was done!
Any additional comments?
I would listen to it again, and just might :)

Outstanding Narration!
Revisado: 03-25-15
What made the experience of listening to The Queen the most enjoyable?
As the narrator, Rachel made each character's voice distinct. She made it so easy to know when a new character was speaking which provided for a really enjoyable listening experience.
What did you like best about this story?
I haven't read the rest of the Selection series, and this book made me want to read more.
Have you listened to any of Rachel F. Hirsch’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I also listened to THE ICE CAPTAIN'S DAUGHTER. That book required various accents as well. I was really impressed with (in both books) how she was able to make each voice sound so different, and how the voices she used in the two books differed from each other.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I didn't have an extreme reaction. I just enjoyed it.
Any additional comments?
I look forward to listening to more books narrated by Rachel F. Hirsch because she is not monotone, she is easy to listen to, and she does great character voices. My only complaint about the book is I enjoyed the book so much I wish it were longer!
