Historia
The War on Warriors uncovers the deep roots of our dysfunction—a society that has forgotten the men who take risks, cut through red tape, and get their hands dirty. The only kind of men prepared to face the dangers that the Left pretends don’t exist. Unlike issues of education or taxes or crime, this problem doesn’t have a zip code solution. We can’t move away from it. We can’t avoid it. We have only one Pentagon. Either we take it back or surrender it altogether.

Bold Criticism of the current US Military and how to restore it
Revisado: 12-04-24
Today’s DEI and WOKE military is lethal, not to our enemies, but to our own soldiers. This is the picture he paints with much hard evidence.
His personal military experience is offered as proof of the impressive US Military that existed just a few years ago, versus its current sad state. Recruitment and morale is at an all time low.
This book makes it clear where of stands on every issue and why Trump nominated him to head the Department of Defense … and, why he’s one of the main ones targeted by the far Left. He would be the rank and file soldier’s representative in power. Also he would greatly increase the numbers of brave men to enlist.

A novel That Transcends Words
Revisado: 06-23-23
A published novelist I know from being friends on FaceBook calls this the greatest novel ever written. As good as Anna Karenina or A Tale of Two Cities? He said it is at least as good.
Half way through it, I thought, perfectly written, grabs you immediately, is genuine and using simple everyday words, but not greatest ever written? It sounds like a children’s book; and btw they generally are the most profound. Take CSLewis’ Chronicles of Narnia for example, which was briefly mentioned in this book.
The last part is wonderful, sad, happy, real, not a fantasy, powerful and emotional.
It is indeed one of the greatest books ever written.

Informative; last chapter is a poignantly instructive autobiography Dave Asprey
Revisado: 04-21-23
It’s two books: 1. The science of longevity and how to achieve it.
2. The last chapter: the point of living long, told by his own biographical example.
It’s a great book, easy to listen to, full of knowledge. I admire Dave Asprey also, the bio hack guy, but I would l suggest he read this book.

Old-fashioned American Story of American Values
Revisado: 09-19-22
This is the novel that provided the inspiration for the TV show, “The Waltons” There are similarities, such as the big family in a rural area of Virginia, and a mountain named after their family, and the oldest son is Clay-boy and the father is Clay rather than John. However, it’s no surprise that in order to create a show that lasted 9 seasons they had to make up the tales for the majority of episodes.
I was surprised that it’s a very funny book; in places I laughed out loud. But also it struck me that the Spencers were hard core Democrats, even naming their set of twins, Franklin Delano and Eleanor, and were very proud of their ancestors who fought in the Civil War on the side of the Confederacy; one even had died in the war. The values of these people, honest work, devotion to their faith, and love of their country, would be well to the right of people of either political party today.
Another anomaly is that in this novel Clay-boy isn’t obsessed with becoming a writer, though he does start a library in a small abandoned building in their small town and he is a prodigious reader.
Overall it was a very pleasant and entertaining read.

Historia
Jared Kushner was one of the most consequential presidential advisers in modern history. For the first time, he recounts what happened behind closed doors during the Trump presidency. Few White House advisors have had such an expansive portfolio or constant access to the president. From his office next to Trump, senior adviser Jared Kushner operated quietly behind the scenes, preferring to leave the turf wars and television sparring to others.

Trump’s Presidency - Real Story from Inside
Revisado: 08-31-22
This is a wonderful inside view of the Trump White House. Many of Trump’s appointees who were disappointing, as well as the ones who were great, are openly discussed and seen from a firsthand viewpoint.
Jared Kushner tells openly the details of his Father’s crime and imprisonment and the prosecutor, Chris Christie.
Ivanka and how she became converted to Orthodox Judaism is very interesting. She converted before they were married.
The Abraham Accords are shown in great detail step by step.
Great and easy audio read, hard to put down. I finished it on audio in about 4-5 days.

Evidence that Insulin Resistance is Related to Many Chronic Diseases
Revisado: 03-27-22
The book discusses how insulin resistance is related to obesity, and essentially is Type 2 Diabetes, pre-diabetes or metabolic syndrome. Many serious diseases such as coronary artery disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s, cerebrovascular accidents or strokes, are many times more likely to occur in patients with insulin resistance.
The book is easily understood and very motivational for anyone wanting to turn their life around and get healthy through changing their lifestyle.

Historia
On September 11, 2001, the lives of two boys on opposite sides of the world are changed in an instant. Baheer, a studious Afghan teen, sees his family’s life turned upside down when they lose their livelihood as war rocks the country. A world away, Joe, a young American army private, has to put aside his dreams of becoming a journalist when he’s shipped out to Afghanistan. Enduring Freedom is a moving and enlightening novel about how ignorance can tear us apart and how education and understanding can bring us back together.

Very important book at this time (Afghan disaster)
Revisado: 08-26-21
It is well written, easy and fluid to follow read.
Very informative as to what the Afghans actually thought of the Taliban before 9-11, and how they visualized Americans when they came. Russians had been cruel and they feared Americans would be too.
At first the impression was that Americans were inept and without manners, but gradually they realized they were there to help.
Most of the book involves a friendship that develops between a low ranking US soldier and a young man who is trying to learn English and gradually becomes an interpreter and great ally.
Our current betrayal is tragic not only for America but for those Afghanistan people who want freedom.

As intended, it scares the hell out of you!
Revisado: 03-17-21
I gave it 4 stars because it is such an important topic. It did indeed scare the hell out of me.
This was a realistic scenario of why we need a cyber force to prevent cyber blackmail and deter a cyber assault by countries such as China and Russia. Just as nuclear detente prevented WW3 for over 60 years, cyber deterrence is needed now.
If both sides end up disabling each other’s cyber capabilities, then we will need a military capable of flying blind, so to speak. Those old skills need to be part of military training more now than when we had technological superiority.
A worthwhile read!!

Historia
James A. Garfield may have been the most extraordinary man ever elected president. Born into abject poverty, he rose to become a wunderkind scholar, a Civil War hero, and a renowned and admired reformist congressman. Nominated for president against his will, he engaged in a fierce battle with the corrupt political establishment. But four months after his inauguration, a deranged office seeker tracked Garfield down and shot him in the back. But the shot didn’t kill Garfield. The drama of what happened subsequently is a powerful story of a nation in turmoil.
