Politics not needed

If you are a citizen tired of the insertion of politics and social justice issues into businesses, TV, and books that don’t NEED to be involved in politics or social justice... be warned. She starts diving off the deep end around 2 hours and 30 minutes in. After that I didn’t want to continue on. I don’t want to use my dollar to support anymore of that nonsense. I especially don’t value her opinion... since she’s living in a house in the Caribbean... far removed from actually being involved at “home.” There isn’t anything new to learn here that isn’t already covered in your typical monthly magazine. She just tosses some jokes and curse words into basic concepts and tries to spruce up the leftovers to tempt people to buy it. Seriously, basic.

What about non-business folks?

I enjoyed this book and it gave me new ideas on how to incorporate more happiness into my life. However, I don't know if the actual book would have been better than listening. Some of it left me wondering what it was or how to apply it. We're their figures or examples for success mapping? Honestly I hope Shawn Achor addresses other groups of people in his writing at some point. I understand that his focus is businesses and organizations but I'd like more examples of how to apply this to life outside the office! Some people are housewives, living in situations like care facilities, or have disabilities... not everyone works in a corporation. Trying to apply business examples to life outside an office is a task... he did use weight loss as an example a couple times... but pretty much glossed over it and any other thing that didn't have to do with business. I felt like he was really only addressing business managers and leaders. Not your average worker, self employed, or humble unemployed human. Unfortunately, I am not a business person so it was a hurdle trying to figure out how I could actually use things like positive inception. Smiling at my dog works fantastic but has negative responses from my teenager!

Feeling deceived

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
At this point, in MY opinion, what would have made this a better listening experience, is not seeing her social media and videos that promoting groups that hurt our communities and attitudes with extremely negative aspects/delivery. It tarnished my view of how she delivered her message and her intent in this book. If I hadn't seen her other views, I probably would have been satisfied with the message, I think she meant to convey in her writing. Stand alone, the book had a good message. Set your goals to achieve how you want to feel... For a "feel good guru" who is supposed to be honored to help you... to promote negativity on her pages, ruined the whole listening experience for me. It is hard for me to separate the message and the messager. It left me questioning the sincerity of the message in this book and if her intent was to just sell a book.
What was most disappointing about Danielle LaPorte’s story?
I felt like she didn't address coping with obstacles enough. She briefly glossed over it. Some people have really big obstacles and she wanted to giving more focus to positives... which is fine but according to the author you're supposed to "look the bad right in the face..." unless you're this author and writing this book. I wish she had addressed it more for those who need it.
Would you be willing to try another one of Danielle LaPorte’s performances?
I will choose to feel better by not choosing another performance by this author.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Desire Map Experience?
The poems and riffing... it didn't speak to me. Some of it felt forced. It's not my thing but others may enjoy the offbeat delivery.

People mistakenly think that they need to eat less and exercise more to create a calorie deficit in order to lose weight. This is not how diet and exercise helps with weight loss. A well-formulated keto-adapted diet along with proper exercise builds muscle and muscle builds mitochondria. It is in the mitochondria where fat is oxidized so you can keep your cells and liver insulin sensitized. Weight loss and health is about healthy mitochondria and about controlling hormones and specifically insulin.

Interesting take on the keto diet. I heard a lot of new information explained in a down to earth manner. However I still don't know what the author means by the phrase "well planned keto adapted diet!" How do you actually plan a meal or menu? The book was filled with great tips that support her plan but the actual framework for applying this is lacking. The book has a ton of supporting info for why she promotes keto but not enough on applying to your own life. Her web site sells menu plans... That she really didn't promote which I am glad. If I like a message I will check it out without a book long ad. She's extreme about everything but if what you are doing isn't working..... Perhaps another read of this will clear things up more. I haven't read her first book so maybe there's info there?

You don't even have to believe it works...

What did you love best about The Tapping Solution?
I like that you do not have to believe this works and you do NOT have to force yourself to be positive (when your world might not be positive) to be able to use the technique here. This is a physical thing to use when you are distressed or dealing with a craving/addiction. You can use it on pretty much anything you have having trouble coping with. You can say all the negative things going on inside your head and tap on the points and get results. You don't even have to do it perfectly to see some results. Once you learn the method from this book or online... you don't really need to spend any more money. If you are using a therapist you can still use this technique to get faster results. If you are having trouble finding the words to say... you can actually find scripts and videos online for common problems. Its really easy after you try it a couple times and this audio leads you through several scenarios that you might have in your life from pain and phobias to weightloss. They do cover addictions, creativity, and a whole host of things. I recommend check the "look inside" feature on Amazon to see the chapter list and content of the book.
What did you like best about this story?
I like that its a technique that doesn't require any extra money and I don't have to pretend everything is hunky dory in my world to get results.
What did you learn from The Tapping Solution that you would use in your daily life?
I have used the tapping technique very recently to help me cope with extremely painful grief from a family death. It helped me to get out of the grief state when it hit, so that I could go through my day and do the things I needed to do. It helped me to not dwell in my sorrow. Does it erase the memory? No... but it eases the attached feelings you have about the event so it doesn't hurt so much. Sometimes I can get total relief from the pain and sometimes I have to do several tapping sessions. It can sometimes take care of the issue the first time but it may pop up over and over for a while... like my grief. However, I have had outstanding results from it during an extremely stressful time in my life. Several times, I wondered how I'd be able to pick up the pieces and go on. I have taught my children to use it because it helped me so much.
Any additional comments?
If you are suffering from anything you feel is holding you back in your life, you should at least try this technique. It won't harm you like prescriptions and it won't cost you anything more than listening to the book... unless you WANT to pay for extra help.
