Historia
What is a Buseyism? I take the letters that spell a word to create a definition for the word in the truth of its deeper, dimensional meaning. I weave in my personal anecdotes along with my musings on how I live life successfully according to my experiences. Who am I, a genius, a crazy madman, to give advice? This is not advice. I am sharing the life lessons I learned while surviving the ups and downs of almost 50 years in Hollywood, a near fatal motorcycle accident, a drug overdose, two divorces, bankruptcy and cancer in the middle of my face.

At its heart is Grant, victor and eyewitness to the defining moments of the Civil War, including the Battles of Shiloh, Chattanooga, and the Wilderness; the Siege of Vicksburg; and the Appomattox campaign, which concluded with the surrender of Confederate general Robert E. Lee.

Bramhall reads Grant so well as he did in Chernow's biography! No wonder this is studied as THE war memoir.

Historia
They are called the Greatest Generation, but they were also ordinary men, responding to the call of duty. These are their unforgettable stories—first-person accounts from the last of the soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines who fought the most dreadful war in history, all collected by a veteran of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Historia
Ulysses S. Grant's life has typically been misunderstood. All too often he is caricatured as a chronic loser and an inept businessman or as the triumphant but brutal Union general of the Civil War. But these stereotypes don't come close to capturing him, as Chernow reveals in his masterful biography, the first to provide a complete understanding of the general and president whose fortunes rose and fell with dizzying speed and frequency.

Bramhall gives a masterful narration about the most underrated hero in American history!
Revisado: 04-23-24
We all know the stories we were told growing up about how Grant was an alcoholic and was lucky to have had so much man power at his disposal and disposed of said man power promptly until the South ran out of men. And then, as president, let the robber barons run the country and was the model administration for corruption until Nixon.
However, this book goes into incredible detail without getting lost in the weeds of information that debunks the vast majority of "common knowledge" about Grant. Much like Chernow's biography of Washington, Chenow weaves a masterful tale without sacrificing truth for drama! It is absolutely wonderful to be simultaneously entertained and learning!

Historia
The Rifle is the inspirational story of a 28-year-old US Marine, Andrew Biggio, who returned home from combat in Afghanistan and Iraq, full of questions about the price of war. He found answers from those who survived the costliest war of all - WWII veterans. It began when Biggio bought a 1945 M1 Garand Rifle, the most common rifle used in WWII. When Biggio showed the gun to his neighbor, WWII veteran Corporal Joseph Drago, it unlocked memories Drago had kept unspoken for 50 years.

A moving portrait of unsung heroes
Revisado: 10-31-23
I didn't know what to expect but a friend of mine, whose opinions/recommendations are nearly always spot on, told me I should read it. Well, with a newborn I don't have a lot of time to read so I got this audio version to listen to on my way to and from work and I am absolutely smitten with this story. Loved it from start to finish and I can't wait to listen to the sequel that just came out!
