Historia
Look at a map of the world and you’ll see a colorful checkerboard of nation-states. But this is not where power actually resides. Over the last decade, globalization has shattered the map into different legal spaces: free ports, tax havens, special economic zones. With the new spaces, ultracapitalists have started to believe that it is possible to escape the bonds of democratic government and oversight altogether. Crack-Up Capitalism follows the most notorious radical libertarians around the globe as they search for the perfect space for capitalism.

In time the Piby shall contain all worthy prophecies and inspirations endowed by God upon the sons and daughters of Ethiopia, but no article shall be permitted to enter the Piby save that which is in accordance with the gospel of the 20th century, preached by his holiness, Shepherd Athlyi, apostle Marcus Garvey and colleague; the three apostles anointed and sent forth by the Almighty God to lay the foundation of industry, liberty and justice unto the generations of Ethiopia that they prove themselves a power among the nations and in the glory of their God.

Decent reissued
Revisado: 12-16-21
This is a decent reissue of a classic in the field of Rastafarian studies. This leaves a lot out from the original, but a decent read to get into the topic.

Historia
Winston Churchill is generally considered one of the greatest leaders of the 20th century, revered for his opposition to appeasement, his defiance in the face of German bombing of England, his political prowess, and his memorable speeches. He became the savior of his country, as prime minister during the most perilous period in British history, World War II, and is now perhaps even more beloved in America than in England. This revelatory book takes on Churchill in his entirety, separating the man from the myth that he so carefully cultivated.

A solid, yet, wonderfully written book.
Revisado: 12-13-21
Wheatcroft wrote, what I hoped, most biographers would write about anyone. Winston Churchill is two individuals in one person. There is Churchill the fictional character and Churchill the person; this biography was about the latter with a denunciation of the former.

National Book Award finalist Patrick Phillips tells Forsyth's tragic story in vivid detail and traces its long history of racial violence all the way back to antebellum Georgia. Recalling his own childhood in the 1970s and '80s, Phillips sheds light on the communal crimes of his hometown and the violent means by which locals kept Forsyth all white well into the 1990s.

Excellent documentation of America’s crimes.
Revisado: 07-25-20
Patrick Phillips’ memoir is an excellent documentation of systemic racism that allowed for the lynching and exile of African-Americans from Forsyth county Ga. This book should be required reading for all Americans. It would have been better if Phillips personalized the book more. Phillips hastily and awkwardly glanced over his family’s white-flight from Atlanta during the 19070s, not realizing that small actions like those lead to larger ones like those of the mop or even to what Mr. Crow(e) did during the 1980s. Despite those weaknesses, the book is well researched and written.

Historia
A century ago, everyone knew that people were fated by their race, sex, and nationality to be more or less intelligent, nurturing, or warlike. But Columbia University professor Franz Boas looked at the data and decided everyone was wrong. Racial categories, he insisted, were biological fictions. Cultures did not come in neat packages labeled "primitive" or "advanced". What counted as a family, a good meal, or even common sense was a product of history and circumstance, not of nature.

A must Read: absolutely required.
Revisado: 05-04-20
King covered so much ground in this book without boring his audience, he should get a medal for that. This is a biography of the United States and how it can and should correct itself. It’s a biography of those who we should honor and what we should aspire to become. Absolutely a brilliant read. Bravo to Charles King: this is biblical.

A Tough Read
- De KP en 05-07-16
Great story telling: mediocre language skills
Revisado: 08-08-16
Marlon James brought home the story of modern Jamaica comprehensively in a brief history of seven killings. The characters are fully developed, they have lives to live, and the lived. However, the language skills of the readers were not as good as I would've liked. The patois is atrocious at times, so bad, I had stop and read the book. Another thing I did not like about the book itself was the pornographic sex. The detailed description of each sex act gets to be overbearing at times. If I wanted to read porn I would've bought a playboy magazine. Overall, the storytelling is great and the book is worth reading.
