Didn't enjoy this book at all
Revisado: 04-22-25
The story was trite, repetitive, and could have been told in less than half the time. I found the main characters to be one dimensional and couldn't connect with either. I definitely won't listen to this author again.
The truly painful part, however, was the narrator. Imagine a breathy, wavering voice with the cadence of Alexa. Now combine that with a female William Shatner - for ALL the characters.

I really enjoyed this multi-layered story
Revisado: 04-18-25
Pros: the characters, and the many layers the writer knit together.
Con: the narrator. The constant breathy, shaky voice became very distracting. While it did add to the performance when appropriate, it was overdone which made it lose impact and then become annoying.

Narrator made this impossible to finish

The story was fine but ruined by a narrator who sounded like a student reading aloud in class. Conversations were run together, and she had horrible inflection and flow.

Enjoyed the story very much, but not the narrator
Revisado: 03-31-24
If not for the story, I would have given up before the second chapter. The narrator did several voices well, and there was easy distinction between characters. His cadence, however, was a combination of politician, newscaster, and Rod Serling. Very distracting and annoying.

Historia
It was supposed to be fun. A relaxing trip to a remote mountain retreat where there’s no phone reception. Three couples, friends since high school, are looking forward to a weekend of drinking, reminiscing and flirting. When someone suggests swapping partners, it doesn’t seem like such a bad idea. The lights will be switched off, for privacy. It’s not really cheating if you don’t know who you were with, right? But when the lights come back on, one of the men is dead. No-one can agree who was in which bedroom with whom.

For me the narration was distracting
Revisado: 12-29-23
The writing wasn't bad, but the reader is asked to suspend belief several times. The narration from the main character's pov was excessively breathy and sounded like she was on the verge of tears even when it didn't fit the passage.
