Historia
For over a decade, philosopher and energy expert Alex Epstein has predicted that any negative impacts of fossil fuel use on our climate will be outweighed by the unique benefits of fossil fuels to human flourishing--including their unrivaled ability to provide low-cost, reliable energy to billions of people around the world, especially the world’s poorest people. And contrary to what we hear from media “experts” about today’s “renewable revolution” and “climate emergency,” reality has proven Epstein right.

Very good and well structured book
Revisado: 06-03-22
The denial of the benefits of fossil fuel. The denial of positive externalities of fossil fuels. The denial of the climate impact mitigation allowed by fossil fuels.
These are obvious denials and hard to explain. According to Epstein the reason is the anti impact framework adopted by our knowledge system and their designated experts as opposed to the human flourishing framework he proposes.

Historia
For 4,000 years, the size and vitality of cities, economies, and empires were heavily determined by infection. Striking humanity in waves, the cycle of plagues set the tempo of civilizational growth and decline, since common response to the threat was exclusion — quarantining the sick or keeping them out. But the unprecedented hygiene and medical revolutions of the past two centuries have allowed humanity to free itself from the hold of epidemic cycles — resulting in an urbanized, globalized, and unimaginably wealthy world.

No original insight in the book. More global cooperation is the answer for everything. WHO needs more money.
