Historia
230 BC - The first sovereign emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang, has consolidated his ultimate power with battles against the last of the dissenting tribes of China. With one last province to take, he knows he will be pitted against the one man he fears - his mysterious half brother, Li Zhang, leader of a peaceful province to the north. The new emperor's goal was to murder Li Zhang for the secrets he has kept from the world that would give Qin Shi Huang the power to strike beyond the borders of ancient China. The power over earth, water, fire, and air.

Hated the performance
Revisado: 09-30-18
if they use the same reader for the next book, I will not buy it. Accents and timing were horrible. I love the story line but cannot endure any more of this reader. Please bring back Richard Poe!

Historia
In 267,000 BCE the continent was its own world, untouched by the planetwide catastrophe that ended the reign of the dinosaurs over 65 million years before. A traveler arrives in the jungles of this ancient world who will fight to survive carnivorous creatures in a land never meant for humankind. In another time and in a land far distant, men and women struggle to recover from the loss of so many of their own in a battle. Inside of this group, Colonel Jack Collins has summoned the best of the best from the most secretive organization in the United States government.

So sad!
Revisado: 08-05-16
Would you consider the audio edition of The Traveler to be better than the print version?
Have not read print version.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Traveler?
Carl and his 'chickens'.
What does Richard Poe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
His narration was engaging, characters had personality.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
What's under the ice?
Any additional comments?
I certainly hope there is another book coming out in the Event series. I listened to all from book 1 to Traveler. Going through major Event withdrawal. I read/listen a lot. By far and away the BEST series ever. What a great series for several movies! If they make a movie I vote for Alec Baldwin as Jack.

Historia
That Nelda Roundheels had been murdered would have been of little interest to anyone - except that her body turned up in the bishop of Winchester's bedchamber with a letter to the bishop, from the king's most important enemy, rolled up in her breastband. The bishop and his knight, Sir Bellamy of Itchen, realize immediately that the purpose of putting the body in Winchester's bedchamber is to embarrass and discredit the bishop. And the reason for this attack on Winchester is his calling of a convocation to chastise the king for acting high-handedly against the bishop of Salisbury.

Story engaging; Performance Horrible!!!
Revisado: 10-28-13
Where does Chains of Folly rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
In terms of the story, among the better ones. I have long enjoyed this series. But the performance was terrible! The only reason I listened to the end was because I am a Roberta Gellis fan.
What didn’t you like about Susan Duerden’s performance?
Characterization of different voices, different genders. At points I actually muted because I simply could not stand her reading and characterizations.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Don't employ Susan Duerden!
Any additional comments?
I will NOT ever listen to another book by this reader....

Poor reading
Revisado: 10-02-13
How did the narrator detract from the book?
I am just starting this book and am struggling with the reader. HORRIBLE!! I will stick it out since I love the series but will not purchase any more books by the reader. Poor inflection and emphasis on work words. Terrible.

Historia
The Nightrunners are back in this gripping novel full of Lynn Flewelling’s trademark action, intrigue, and richly imagined characters. More than the dissolute noblemen they appear to be, Alec and Seregil are skillful spies, dedicated to serving queen and country. But when they stumble across evidence of a plot pitting Queen Phoria against Princess Klia, the two Nightrunners will find their loyalties torn as never before.

Get A Different Reader!
Revisado: 10-10-12
What disappointed you about Casket of Souls?
The reader ruined the story for me. I've read every book by the author and was thrilled to have the opportunity to listen to the latest. I'm into chapter 10 and cannot take any more. My 7 year old granddaughter could do better. All characters sound the same, have the same inflection. Horrible!!!
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Could not finish!
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Adam Danoff?
Luke Daniels or Scott Brick though this is not Scott's usual genre

Don't But This Book!
Revisado: 05-16-07
This is about the worst narrated book I've listened to yet! Poorly read, poor timing, poor sense of the dramatic, the reader has taked a mediocre book and made it a horrible one. I don't usually give up on a book, but I give up on this one!

Can I get a refund?
Revisado: 09-14-04
This has to be one of the worst books I've ever read/heard! Full of trite, poorly written cliches, the book drags through multiple fragmented story lines. Is it an Indiana Jones spin-off? Is it a secret nefarious corporate whodunit? Is it a religious proselytization? I seldom give up on a book, but could only take so much of this one! Can I have a refund, please?
