I love how ridiculously complicated these Lou Archer plots are. The last chapter never disappoints. Tom Parker is perfect as usual. Noir Mystery at its finest.

I decided that since I am a big fan of Hoards Harry Stark Books I would try this and am very glad I did.

Nice to see a new release in the current day original Harry Starke Series. It's nice to see Amanda and Jade back in the lime light.
No spoiler, but just because Shady is dead, doesn't mean he has given up getting even with Harry! Tim has really stepped up in this one. He is become more nd more an important part of Harry Starke Investigations.

All through these books there is a subtle reference to McCabe and Cody being a modern day American Holmes and Watson. It seem that's what Andriacco wants us to think.
That's completely irrelevant and I think very far fetched. Holmes was never a "loveable character" like McCabe is, and Watson never displayed the drive and ingenuity that come readily to Cody. These two stand on their own and I hope to listen to many more instalments of this pair.

OK, I knew Jeffrey Dahmer was a serial killer and cannibal. That's about all I knew.
Not only is all this information about the why and where very interesting, but you come away amazed a how Patrick Kennedy, the Detective that interviewed Dahmer, got the confessions, and helped identify all the victims, managed to hold it together for month after month of listening to all Dahmer had to tell.
Great listen.

Harry tackles the coldest of cold cases

There is no such thing as a bad Harry Starke novel. This one is no different. A 30 year old Hit and Run murder in Florida, no problem.
It is part of the Genesis Series I guess because Kate is still his girlfriend, but except for that it seems more like the modern main series Harry Starke books. Ok by me. I listen to them all.
As long as Howard writes them and Lennon narrates, I will keep buying.

In the the books, Milo always seem to find the mind lint he needs to solve the puzzle. In this one however the identity of the murder is so well hidden from the reader at least, that the ending it really surprising.
As usual there are a few laughs along the way.

Memphis PI Carson Reno manages to get himself in all kinds of trouble in this one. He needs to catch a killer, before they convict him!
As ussual there are plenty of light hearted scenes as well. I am convinced Marcie is really the brains of the outfit.

Book 1 I enjoyed very much and was waiting patiently to see how Marsha Casper Cook was going to continue with the story.
I liked the focus shifting somewhat to Lilly and Samuel more than in book 1. Seniors deserve a second chance too! There is life after 40!
