Hard hitting issues and sweet but also unrelatable
Revisado: 03-11-25
The plot of this story is definitely interesting. As a parent myself, I can relate to Charlotte's strong need to protect her child, especially given her backstory. I liked Wesley's empathy for Charlotte and his dedication to his job. The story is quite complex with some hard hitting issues, including sexual exploitation and kidnapping. Stacy Eaton has balanced these issues with the Young family which is large, very loving and supportive of each other and very welcoming to new additions.
Despite that, I struggled with this story. I don't want to spoil it but what Wesley did to Charlotte, despite the stresses of work, I found difficult to forgive so easily. He does redeem himself to some extent but I still struggled with this part of the story.

The Stratham Shifters story continues....
Revisado: 05-21-18
This is a very interesting series. With each subsequent book, it is as though the plot is gaining momentum, like a slowly brewing storm. We are just waiting for all the pieces to line up so the deluge can begin.
This pride of dragons is special. In a paranormal world where dragons are precious about the purity of their bloodlines, these dragons are half breeds. They each have troubled pasts and are highly vulnerable. Add to that they each house their own dragon and that of their mate and the situation gets even more complex. Until they find their fated mate and vessel for the other dragon, they struggle with weakness and ill health.
The overall story line that threads through the series centres on their enemy, the Dragon Council. In each book the council unsuccessfully attempts to disband and eliminate the pride. In the case of Evander, he is a half breed but a stranger to the pride. He is usually kept imprisoned by the council but in this case they have sent him to get rid of the pride. Instead he finds his mate, the potential for his salvation, and family.
The book has a lot going on as the Stratham Shifters saga continues. I do wish there was a little more detail to the story but I can appreciate that this is a quick and easy paranormal audiobook to listen to.

NBA star Chase Holbrook's reputation with women is as legendary as his court stats. But his best scores have always come when he's focused on his jump shot, not on the ladies. With a teammate putting up close competition for the offensive record, Chase needs to prove that he was worth every penny of his high-dollar trade. To be the top-scoring player, Chase accepts a team bet to steer clear of women. Shouldn't be a problem for ultra-competitive Chase - especially when he learns it's the annoyingly cute team mascot who's tasked with monitoring his every move.

Absolutely Loved it! Cried a little, laughed alot!
Revisado: 11-03-17
Leslie North delivers everything in this humourous, heart-felt, tear forming, feel-good, sports-based romance. Be prepared to giggle and cry but mostly relish NBA star Chase Holbrook and mascot Willow Bends wonderful romance. While this is a stand alone story, I am completely inspired to listening to the rest of the series.
Rebecca Roberts delivers the kind of narration that sets the story to life. She picks up the subtle nuances of the various characters. In fact, it is more than a narration, it is a performance worthy of the story.

Hot BDSM foreplay narrative
Revisado: 11-02-17
Zoe and Alexei encounter each other at the gym. From that moment, even before they officially meet, they circle each other in a loose version of foreplay. And before their first date really begins they test their dom-sub compatibility. Don't assume the short length takes away from the opportunity to maximise on description. Lucy Felthouse's bite-size novella is sexy. It neatly explores the potential of a relationship between two consenting adults that know exactly what they want, need and like.

An interesting saga-ish paranormal romance
Revisado: 05-04-17
Any additional comments?
A very interesting paranormal romance about mer-people who are, in fact, sirens. And let me just say that the mer-people are extremely attractive, smart and irresistible, though I am still undecided whether I find them to be attracive or a little freaky with the whole mood and mind control thing. I think that mating with humans puts the humans at a clear disadvantage because the sirens seem to be able to blur the edges of the human's awareness and alter that person's interpretation of reality.
That said, this is the story of two highly intelligent individuals who have an instant connection, even at the age of five. A lot of the book is dedicated to detailing their childhood up to the age of 20 - 21 when they can finally get together. The siren community has a particular mating ritual steeped in secrecy that prevents Kate, a human, and Gabe, a siren, from exploring their attraction. This part of the book is a little slow moving, detailed and mysterious.
Then... bang.... they get together as adults and accelerate into a fully committed relationship, complete with a baby on the way, in no time at all. The book suddenly picks up speed. While most of the issues from the first part are resolved, the plot thickens as Kate attracts more than just her mate's attention. Remember the whole altered reality thing I mentioned earlier. Well that ability is central to the mystery. Overall, very interesting though I did think an extraordinary amount of time was spent on the protagonists' childhood. I wish more time was spent on their budding romance. This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

A fantastical tale of war and love
Revisado: 05-02-17
Dusty Lynn Holloway has written a very interesting book. It starts at the end with a dream that is a vision of a rather bleak future. To be honest, I felt a little lost initially, not quite understanding what was happening and who it was happening to.
Then the story meanders through an intricate tapestry of complex patterns with a lyrical flavour. This is a world filled with dwarves, elves, humans, a wolf and dragons in a war between light and darkness. It is filled with love, sacrifice, decisions with deepseated ramifications and much more. As the threads become clearer, the plot picks up momentum, builds and thickens.
It is hard not to be fascinate as a wonderful and terrible world is brought to life. The relationship between the characters are intrinsically tied together in past and present with coincidences that certainly don't feel coincidental. The plot has tremendous potential and I look forward to the next book.
Rob Goll has narrated the story in a way that matches the temperament of the book. He has brought the characters and circumstances to life making the journey enjoyable.

Enjoyable, sexy and sweet!
Revisado: 03-11-17
I've always liked Fredo. He has always had a side role in the series, not as cool, handsome, tall, dynamic as the other SEALs. It always felt like he had to work just a little harder than the others for what they could almost take for granted.Though he was always depicted as an integral and deadly part of the team.
Well, this is his well deserved book. He is perhaps the most sensitive of the lot and just as virile as his team mates. His story has Sharon Hamilton signature steamy and suspenseful style that features integrally to the plot. We continue to visit with characters from the other books in the series, which is always nice.
Overall, enjoyable, sweet and sexy!

Sexy, action-packed... Overall satisfying!
Revisado: 03-09-17
Sharon Hamilton has provided a sexy, action-packed romance, complete with suspense, slightly crazy characters and sex. She manages to find a balance between the action, the plot line and sex so that nothing overwhelms the story. It is fun and meets the need for escapism.
Kyle and Kristy's story is the start to a potentially very interesting series. Despite the heavier suspenseful aspects of the story, there is an element of lightness, fun and humour throughout the plot - how Kyle and Kristy met, the banter between the SEALs, etc. I am looking forward to the other members of the SEAL team finding their HEA.

Hot and Heavy Seal Action
Revisado: 03-07-17
This book has all the elements of Sharon Hamilton's usual action packed Seal romances. It starts with what seems like a hot and heavy, even a little raunchy, one night stand that doesn't seem like it will go anywhere. The end does not disappoint with its sweetness as Alex and Sydney work through their issues, and a few bad guys, to come together. Enjoyable escapism!!

Angels VS Demons.... the story continues.
Revisado: 03-02-17
The story continues...
By that I mean if you haven't heard or read the first book in the series, please stop and do that first. These books need to be read in order. There are plenty of references to incidents, characters and so on from the earlier book.
Now, this book is very interesting. It is less romance and more paranormal. The development towards a full scale war between heaven and hell continues with plenty of skirmishes. Addison and Micah are trying to cope with Jack's death while Addison, being pivotal to heaven's success in battling demons, is coming into her own power and understanding her light. She is learning to temper her darkness and harness it for good. It seems inevitable that she and Micah should turn to each other for solace. And then the game changer...
This series has a lot of potential. The plot is complex with plenty of intertwining events and characters. Just when you have the threads untangle (to some extent) Elise Marion introduces a bend and twist and the story takes on another layer. I am looking forward to finding out how the whole thing plays out.
Henry McNulty is a natural storyteller. He brings the characters to life, modifying his voice as required. He takes you into the book and makes you feel like you are there. Just without being covered in demon blood and guts (Thank goodness!).
