Historia
My husband and I are fighting for our lives in hospital after a terrible car accident. But despite my pain, all I can think about is what our families will find behind our front door. The scarf that has been all over the news, belonging to a dead young woman with honey-coloured hair. I have to speak to the police before my husband can. I’m drifting in and out of consciousness, but when I hear my wife talking to the police, accusing me of the murder of an innocent woman, a cold fear grips me. I know I’ve got a temper.

Good story Terrible Narration
Revisado: 02-08-24
This story was intriguing but 14 hours with this narrator was nearly more than I could take. The villain sounded like a girl, one of the Feds sounded like he just walked out of a 1920’s cop show, and Reacher is 6’5” & 250 lbs and he should sound manly because he is!! I was honestly shocked at how terrible the narration was.
With that being said, Reacher is awesome. What great character! This isn’t one of the best but it holds your interest till the end. I did think their love scene was a bit weird and poorly timed but you never know when the urge will hit.
I may have to skip the next few to get past this narrator but I hate missing out on more REACHER!

Detective Matt Ballard may have retired but there's still plenty going on in the fens to keep him busy. Someone trashes an old lady's garden and daubs her isolated cottage with hateful graffiti. This book is a very slow starter
Revisado: 01-04-24
This book is very slow to start and gets no better as it goes. Very boring and completely ridiculous. I’m a big fan of Joy Ellis but you can’t win them all. This one is a loser.

Revisado: 12-06-23
The story was terrible, the acting was as bad and who are the soldiers that talk like the ones in this book? Very disappointing.

Historia
Frances Wynn, the American-born Countess of Harleigh, enjoys more freedom as a widow than she did as a wife. In all the years of her drab and humble existence, she's never seen anything as magical as the dress before her and she's never wanted anything as much before. Determined to make her dream come true, Mrs. Harris scrimps, saves, and slaves away until one day, after three long, uncomplaining years, she finally has enough money to go to Paris.

If you, or someone you love, is silently struggling, this book is a must
Revisado: 11-09-22
As a huge fan of Matthew Perry I was excited to read his memoir. I came away from the experience, yes, experience, realizing what tremendous disease addiction is and, as a young single mother, many years ago, I realized that I have more in common with him than I would have never known.
There are tender moments that bring you tears, moments of comedy (Chevy Chase) that will do the same.
Matthews explanation of dopamine and receptors was eye opening. I’ve never heard it explained the way he does. If you love someone struggling this book will help you better understand what they are going through. Hopefully it will help us better understand grace, too.
May God continue to bless you, Matthew 🙏 and I pray people find help from your experiences and your words.

So beautifully descriptive
Revisado: 07-12-22
I so enjoyed this book. This is the first book I’ve read from Ms. Owens and the way she is so detailed in her descriptions is remarkable. I floated in my pool listening, smiling and I even shed a few tears. I couldn’t turn it off and now I’m sad it’s complete. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed by this read.
Loved the characters and the setting. Great summer read. You won’t put it down.
