Full of Presuppositions and Correlations
Revisado: 02-22-24
I was hoping to get a story of the Queen that would be filled with more quotes and statements from her that make explicit her reliance on Jesus. While I have no grounds to doubt her personal faith, this book does barely nothing at emphasizing her faith in Jesus. Instead, I think this author simply emphasizes actions and then many times inserts his opinion as to what that action must have meant.
I also think his research must have been limited (using “The Crown” multiple times as a source).
I do not recommend.

Historia
Is bourbon the quintessential American liquor? Bourbon is not just alcohol - the amber-colored drink is deeply ingrained in American culture and tangled in American history. From the early days of raw corn liquor to the myriad distilleries that have proliferated around the country today, bourbon is a symbol of the United States. This course traces bourbon's entire history, from the 1700s, with Irish, Scottish, and French settlers setting up stills and making distilled spirits in the New World, through today's booming resurgence.

Very good content
Revisado: 06-20-23
This course has great content, intriguing history, and a helpful conclusion. Having said that, the teacher speaks as though he is reading (which he probably is), and so his excitement for the craft doesn’t come through.

Historia
For the majority of people, sorrow, despair, anxiety, and mental illness are everyday experiences. While we have made tremendous advancements in therapy and psychiatry, the burden of living still comes down to mundane choices that we each must make—like the daily choice to get out of bed. In this deeply personal essay, Alan Noble considers the unique burden of everyday life in the modern world. Sometimes, he writes, the choice to carry on amid great suffering—to simply get out of bed—is itself a powerful witness to the goodness of life, and of God.

Everyone should read this

I am not one to say “everyone” often. But here I am saying that about this book. It’s so practical, down to earth, helpful, exhortive while also encouraging.
Whether you deal with depression and anxiety - or you know someone who does - this book is for you.
