Historia
All good things must come to an end, Constant Listener, and not even Stephen King can write a story that goes on forever. The tale of Roland Deschain's relentless quest for the Dark Tower has, the author fears, sorely tried the patience of those who have followed it from its earliest chapters. But attend to it a while longer, if it pleases you, for this volume is the last, and often the last things are best.

Obvious But Only Possible Ending
Revisado: 12-08-23
I read the first 3 books as soon as each was released. By the time the rest came out, life had gotten hectic and I’d stopped looking for #4. It wasn’t until about 5 years ago that they crossed my mind again. I had finished the Bill Hodges trilogy not long before, which was another King series that fell outside his usual genre so it brought the Tower series to mind. I purchased the entire series in audio format and have listened to it at least once each year since.
I’ve read dozens of the older reviews posted here from many years worth of readers. All I can say is this: anyone who expected a different ending clearly did not pay attention to what they read through the previous six (plus supplementary) books. If you had paid attention to Roland’s actions and interactions with Walter/The Man in Black, throughout the entire series, there were subtle undertones of what was coming. From that opening line, there was a tickle under the skin and whispering in the ear. If you didn’t get that, these books are out of your league.

Historia
Orphaned Jane Eyre grows up in the home of her heartless aunt, where she endures loneliness and cruelty, and at a charity school with a harsh regime. This troubled childhood strengthens Jane's natural independence and spirit - which prove necessary when she finds a position as governess at Thornfield Hall. But when she finds love with her sardonic employer, Rochester, the discovery of his terrible secret forces her to make a choice. Should she stay with him and live with the consequences, or follow her convictions, even if it means leaving the man she loves?

Beautifully Narrated
Revisado: 02-18-23
I read this story, myself, almost 50 years ago. Wanting to refresh my recollection, and unable to tolerate reading at length, decided to experience it via audio. Ms Popplewell has a pleasing voice and did a wonderful job narrating.

Terrible Audio
Revisado: 09-26-22
The audio was very poor quality. It was like there was interference, but other titles were fine. I quit listening after a less than 10 minutes because I couldn’t stand to listen anymore.

It's a story tailor-made for the nightly news: Dylan Meserve and Michaela Brand, young lovers and fellow acting students, vanish on the way home from a rehearsal. Happy Reunion
Revisado: 02-28-19
So happy to have Robin back where she belongs. Happy they have a new fur baby after losing Spike. As to the case, Nora being involved was a twist I wasn’t expecting, but wasn’t surprised that narcissistic Brad took the easy way out.
