Historia
The person who pushes your buttons is likely someone who matters to you - a spouse, a parent, a boss, a fellow church member. Almost always this difficult person is connected to you by blood, love, faith, or money, so you can't just end the relationship without causing pain and upheaval in your life. Our friends and today's culture will often advise us to abandon such relationships quickly - to end this unpleasant chapter and get on with our lives.

Total Misrepresentation!
Revisado: 06-20-10
NO WHERE in the audible review is this book listed as a DEVOUT Christian guide to dealing with difficult people nor are the author's fundamentalist beliefs even mentioned. However, 75% of this book is about God, bible verses and what "Jesus would do" parables. I am a spiritual person and do not mind references to God. Yet, the title and the review are incredibly misleading. Also, there are several instances where the advice provided is based less on research or best-practice therapy and more on the author's belief in "Gods Will for the Family."

Don't Buy If....
Revisado: 04-11-10
I am a huge fan of Brian Tracy; I have learned so much from his books. If you own his products, buying this one is not a good idea. The principles expressed here are the same as those shared in "21 Secrets of Millionaires" or "Eat that Frog: 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time." However, if you are new to Brian Tracy's work, this is a good buy.

Historia
One of the most popular Fortune articles in many years was a cover story called "What It Takes to Be Great." Geoff Colvin offered new evidence that top performers in any field - from Tiger Woods and Winston Churchill to Warren Buffett and Jack Welch - are not determined by their inborn talents. Greatness doesn't come from DNA but from practice and perseverance honed over decades.

I highly recommend this book. The author provides a well-researched hypothesis, but is careful not to make statements unsupported by data. In addition, the easy transitions from chapter-to-chapter and great narration made it difficult to turn off at bedtime.

Save your money!
Revisado: 06-04-09
This book is a disappointment; the author regurgitates the same old "don't let your life slip away" lines. He presents a few commonly understood "principles" and spends the other 90% of the book talking about himself to illustrate his points. This would be fine if the reader learned something new....not the case here. Save your money.

Historia
Along with Freud and James, Alfred Adler was a pioneer in the field of individual psychiatry. The materials contained in this volume were written over sixty years ago but remain equally valid today. Though aware of some of the terms he coined, e.g., "inferiority complex," "compensation," and "overcompensation," most teachers and parents are completely unaware of Adler and his remarkable insights into one of the world's most crucial mandates. This book presents some of Adler's most powerful insights on numerous aspects relating to the education of children, including the development of personality; the relationship between the inferiority complex and striving for superiority; preventing the inferiority complex; obstacles to social development; the child's position in the family; the child at school; adolescence and sex education; and educating the parent.

Historia
In Rapt, acclaimed behavioral science writer Winifred Gallagher makes the argument that the quality of your life largely depends on what you choose to pay attention to and how you choose to do it. Gallagher grapples with provocative questions - Can we train our focus? What's different about the way creative people pay attention? Why do we often zero in on the wrong factors when making big decisions? - driving us to reconsider what we think we know about attention.
