Historia
Hermann Hesse's Journey to the East is an account of a geographic and spiritual journey to the East. The narrator, H.H. accompanies the members of a secret society on a journey through both time and space in search of the “ultimate truth”. Fun and entertaining at first, the company falls apart in a deep mountain gorge called Morbio Inferiore when the servant Leo disappears, triggering anxiety and strife. The members each go their own way, and many years later when the narrator tries to write his story of the ill-fated trip, he is unable to put together a coherent account.

Love demien and siddhartha. Female narrator for male character ok but truly a “reader.” Not someone who brings the character to life.

Historia
Researcher and thought leader Dr. Brené Brown offers a powerful new vision that encourages us to dare greatly: to embrace vulnerability and imperfection, to live wholeheartedly, and to courageously engage in our lives. In Daring Greatly, Dr. Brown challenges everything we think we know about vulnerability. Based on 12 years of research, her book argues that vulnerability is not weakness but rather our clearest path to courage, engagement, and meaningful connection.

Exactly what you expect, but narration is painful

I hate to talk shit, but the narrator really didn't do this book justice. She sounded on the edge of emotional breakdown/tears for the entirety of the book. Ironically, the book talks about "flooding" being an inappropriate display of emotion. The tone of the narrator felt pretty "flooding" to me.
As for the book, chances are, you've already heard the TED talks and your checking this out for case studies and additional perspectives. That's exactly what you'll get. Not wacky twists or turns. Does what it says on the box.
