I loved the story and the female characters with their strengths, attitude and determination.
James tells the story of 3 women on a team created to investigate and put away military sex offenders and rapists. It is supposed to send the message zero tolerance for sex offenders in our military. Damn I wish that was true.

The book gives us a gritty look at what life can be like on a base for women, where the sexual harrassment is very relevant and a real issue for women today. I rooted for the Zero Tolerance team the whole time!!! I am a HUGE Hilary Swank fan. I m now a Patterson fan now too.
The road to justice for victims is not a straight win and we see the Zero team navigate those ups and downs, learning to fight as dirty as the bad guys. A victim myself, this book was very cathartic and is a keeper.

I loved the narrator, she did the voices very well and I had no problem distinguishing the different characters. I also liked the story! The book flips back and forth between the two stories of the two main women, one past and the other in the present. Both are artists working on the same mural. One is commissioned to create it and the other is restoring it. As we learn their histories we slowly understand the links between the two women. It is always hard for me to hear how racist out country was and can still be today. It is also healing when we hear the stories about those who rise above and see people for who they are inside, ignoring the appearances. This book is about how one black man used his good fortune to help other artists get a second chance at life. We get his back story and the connections to some of those he helped. This is a good book and I am so glad I listened to it. I was knitting while I listened and now this story is a memory attached to this knitted stole❤💕

I really enjoyed the podcast and "Murdoch's" thoughts in his diaries over the years. The journaling touched on several stories, relationships and issues. His comments bring back memories of so many episodes, reminding me why I enjoy the series so much.

This book's plot was a little more complex than her earlier ones. I really like the expanding friendship between the girls and the local mob. Hotrod is seriously attacked and left for dead in his auto shop, where Ida got her new custom black SUV. They investigate, finding a set of car jacking twins, chasing a key that no one knows what it opens, and unexpected twists after twists.

I read some of her books 20 years ago and got the urge to pick them up again. I love the inside look into this Native culture, and mysteries that let us get to know and understand the characters. I can also relate to being the !one white person in a group of minorities. The plot involved uncovering their history and how these Jesuit priests recorded everything, which came to the rescue of this particular group of Indians. I recommend checking out these books.
