Surprisingly good!
Revisado: 12-29-24
This novel is surprisingly good. Purists will be annoyed by the apparent absence of any reference to the first Predator movie, a 1980s Central American event. But this a surmountable absence.
Fast paced and with characters appropriate to this situation, the action will draw you in.Luckily this recording is short enough to not put down.
The plot behind the scenes is big enough to make today's internet tycoons into colony building interstellar teraformers while allowing for a political class that is so venal and myopic as to spawn heated debate as to whether they are glorified used car salesmen or failed litigaters-some economists will tell you that used car salesmen have a necessary skill and are thus capable of honest work.
I was ready for the next installment .

Historia
In Disunited Nations, geopolitical strategist Peter Zeihan presents a series of counterintuitive arguments about the future of a world where trade agreements are coming apart and international institutions are losing their power. Germany will decline as the most powerful country in Europe, with France taking its place. Every country should prepare for the collapse of China, not North Korea. We are already seeing, as Zeihan predicts, a shift in outlook on the Middle East: it is no longer Iran that is the region’s most dangerous threat, but Saudi Arabia.

The Foreign Policy Predecessor to The New Book
Revisado: 10-08-22
Readers of The End of The World is Just The Beginning will notice that previously (this volume) Zeihan looks under the hood of France's "demographic stability" this will not be the verdict of the French "New Right" but it is close enough. The average reader has the option of reading say, Douglas Murray's the Death of Europe. I suspect that the "Average Reader" needs to warm up before reading say, the first volume of Guillermo Faye's Archeofuturism; the first half of which could be called the ridiculousness of France. For myself, I have tolerated prophecies of the return of French Grandeur and Galore from Lester Thurrow's Head To Head to Norman Lowell's Imperium. There was a time whe moderates were most comfortable calling the French Union a flop, but having declared an unbelievable amount of international alphabet soup relevant, it would be rude not to extend the same courtesy to France. I would read extensively on any other country Zeihan mentions before developing a firm opinion.

Historia
In Prometheus and Atlas, Dr. Jorjani endeavors to deconstruct the nihilistic materialism and rootless rationalism of the modern West by showing how it was grounded on a dishonest suppression of the spectral and why it has a parasitic relationship with Abrahamic religious fundamentalism. Rejecting the marginalization of ESP and psychokinesis as “paranormal”, Prometheus and Atlas makes the case that psi is only “super natural” insofar as our reductive modern scientific models have occluded supernature for practical purposes.

Monument and Pioneering at the same time
Revisado: 08-10-22
Did you know that Johannes Kepler was also an avid astrologer. On the surface, this will be a survey of various religious, scientific, and philosophical great minds from Ancient Greece and Persia to late Twentieth Century Europe, America, and Japan with an argument for a unity which is "Atlantean" by various definitionss. Even the well read will be shocked to discover the depths of occult and alchemical interets and investigations by great scientists and philosophers like Emmanuel Kant and Sir Francis Bascom. The "conservative" unity between Robespier and Napoleon will be , in the very least thought provoking. The Cartesian unity between Des Cartes and the Marquis De Sade is discussed at length, which allows the Author to demolish De Sade, a prophet of the modern hedonism. Atlas and Promethius are transformed from the decorative statuary outside Rockefeller Center into the transformation of a chaotic Firmament and all consuming Void into measurable space and time and an ultra-pragmatic use of diametrically opposed theories to describe and manipulate Nature and Super Nature respectively; With theory being being defined and limited by tools and technology, a stark reversal of the general assumption. These Two are supplemented by the Spectral: that which simply cannot be e explained by theories or practice, or defined within space and time. An eclectic work with far reaching implications.

Since its release in 1949, The Hero with a Thousand Faces has influenced millions of readers by combining the insights of modern psychology with Joseph Campbell's revolutionary understanding of comparative mythology. In this book, Campbell outlines the Hero's Journey, a universal motif of adventure and transformation that runs through virtually all of the world's mythic traditions. He also explores the Cosmogonic Cycle, the mythic pattern of world creation and destruction.

ESPECIALLY IF YOU THINK YOURSELF A WRITER
Revisado: 07-23-22
Not reading this book would be equal parts criminal and unhealthy-- both for yourself and society and possibly the planet.
Paul Verboten famously (perhaps infamously) outsourced the reading of Starship Troopers to an assistant when making Starship Troopers the movta and for all I know George Lucas hired someone else to take better notes. But this book is what has been studiously removed from American Culture.

Metaphysics of War

Historia
These essays, originally written by Evola during the 1930s and '40s, deal with war from a spiritual and heroic perspective. Evola selects specific examples from the Nordic, Vedic, Roman, Persian, Islamic, and other traditions to demonstrate how traditionalists can prepare themselves to experience war in a way that will allow them to overcome the limited possibilities offered by our materialistic and degraded age, thereby transcending the Age of Kali and entering the world of heroism.

Still waiting for Men Among The Ruins
Revisado: 02-17-22
If possible, read Revolt Against The Modern World, but The Metaphysics Of War is intended as an introduction, and it may very well introduce the reader/listener to several authors. The Metaphysics Of War columns were written after "Revolt" and also after Evola translated Spengler's Decline Of The West into Italian. Decline Of The West is also available from Arktos, and there is an Ukame version on Audible. This audio book ("Metaphysics") is derived from columns that the Evola wrote in the 1940s, together with at least one response to the Korean War, or rather the response to the Western European response to the Korean War. While the author assumed that his readers had not read his books yet, and did provide his readers withe free-standing explanations; I find that every subsequent endeavor by Julius Evola reads/listens best with Revolt Against The Modern World acting as a foundation. Almost evereyone has read All Quiet On The Western Front. The editor of my school paperback physically separated Paul Baumer's "death" from the rest of the text--and wouldn't you know it, there was a sequel. Both are available on Kindle and Audible--as are Evola's "Revolt", and Ride the Tiger. The same can be said of Ernst Junger's Storm of Steel. I would also add Robert Graves' Goodbye To All That, which might not be on Audible. Graves' experience is shockingly modern. While I do not believe that Evola never heard of Graves' work, it would have been inaccessible to Italian newspapers in the 1940s. The Metaphysics of War will spark an interest in those books and others, and where referenced, there will be demonstrative passages.

Depicting a running tank engagement lasting 72 hours, Faust describes how his Tiger unit fought pitched battles in the snows of Western Russia against the full might of the Red Army.

Historia
Dismissed by a bored author at a book signing, a betrayed young man named David Sedaris made a vow. Someday, when it was his turn at the table, he’d connect with his readers. The experience has been even more revealing than he’d hoped. In this hilarious and perceptive essay, the celebrated humorist reflects on the unusual patterns of forced socialization between author and audience, and the obligations and sometimes surprising returns of not-so-chance encounters with strangers: jokes, secrets, insights, and even charity.

Too ridiculous to put my parents off.
Revisado: 05-15-21
And that, quite frankly is what I love about Dave Sedaris' writing style. I suspect that a meth-head living in a nest of synthetic and other fibers (the leader of his former art collective); Latin [illegal aliens] fostering cockroaches and bedbugs in New York City housing projects(his former neighbors, who kept the tradition of candied fruit alive but also invented hallway dog walking); and amusement park misshaps-- just to name a few--would have me calling the cops [Immigration] or perhaps cultivating anthrax, but it's all well and good when it happens to Dave Sedaris And it is just as well the present essY shows the lighter sides of: improvised dildos and self-stimulation; Working women's lack of modesty; and civilizational decline as it relates to public libraries. Everyone laughed.

The performance was excellent. I just don't feel comfortable grading it yet. Can you imagine a world where Chrome is an AI. Where Chrome is an AI that gradually moved up from drug dealer to madam. Where Chrome the AI is an ageless Fourteen Year-Old Girl AI that stops by the bar. Can you immerse not being able to tell if you are actually in a dive bar-or an internet cafe-or a chat room. Wilson gave the Post-Moderns, the Progressives, the New-Old Leftists, the avowed anarchists a world with every libertarian they desired - back when floppy disks were cutting edge. Be careful what you wish for.
