Great story & narration

I really enjoyed this variation. It has me on my toes and kept my interest the entire time. I liked that, while the Wickhams layed a part in the story, they weren't given so much importance as characters. I enjoyed discovering Darcy's external struggles within society and how he was able to overcome them within his own ethical code.

Cute, but corny

It was my first time hearing this narrator; she's fantastic. This was a fun premise, but it was corny at times. The author had some repetitive phraseology, but I liked this iteration!

I like that the miscommunication was dealt with as soon as they met up during the Pemberley visit. It's interesting how that timing and the subsequent timing of the proposal and Jane's letter can change so much of the plot. This narrator is always fantastic as her character voices are on point in each book.

I enjoyed this premise. I really like variations wherein Wickham has either reformed or is at least far less of a degenerate than canon. I cannot wait to recommend this to others!

Pretty good

I like the premise and the story was well written. This narrator always does a phenomenal job regardless of author. My only sticking point was the ending. It was wrapped up so quickly and almost glossed over? Just by the title alone you would assume there would be a good amount of fallout from Darcy marrying someone who was in his employ and yet, we are hardly told any details about that likely fallout and it's just so hasty. The last 40 minutes of the book honestly could have been about 2 or 3 times the length if it was delved into more properly.

Great story, okay narrator

Right off the bat, the narrator is very high pitched and a little shrill, therefore unfortunately all the female characters come off sounding a little prissy. However, the writing itself is great. The plot is a very interesting one that made me alternately feel terrible for Darcy and yet at the same time be disappointed in his actions. His hardships were written so well. I'd definitely recommend the P&P variation. imIve read about 130 P&P variations now.

This review has absolutely nothing to do with the narrator. this narrator did a great job with the horrible book he was given. I feel like a quarter of the book was just singing, which is pointless. I'm interested in the plot of the current story, not about someone's great-grandfather in a war from 100 years ago. It also felt as though it's being told to 8 year olds who need to hear the same thing three times in order to understand it. It was overly repetitive, really irritating, and felt utterly pointless.

This was a great story! There were so many small changes at the beginning, resulting in profound differences in final plot. I'm so excited to recommend this one to my sister. I would definitely recommend this if you like Pride and prejudice variations where Wickham redeems himself, as I much do. My only criticism is the hardy laughter of the narrator comes off as sounding very fake.

Great mental reinforcements

This book didn't uncover anything groundbreaking, but its format and phrasing is particularly helpful. While some of these phrases are cheesy, such as "be the hero of your own story", they hit in the right spot if you're dealing with working on yourself (as I am). This book helped me and gave good examples of her various points.

This is the first book I've read from this author. I listen to it once every quarter or so because it's just that good. READ IT!
