One of my favorite musicians writes an autobiography. This hasn't always worked out too well. Getting assistance from Michael Azerrad gave me some positive feelings about this one when it was coming down the road, and it turned out even better that I had anticipated. Well written, this look at Bob Mould's personal history and life in music really doesn't have a dull spot. He doesn't beat you over the head with information, he keeps things moving in the same way a good friend tells you a story about something that just happened to them.

Authors reading their own work is always hit or miss. Here, it absolutely hits. His relaxed reading style really makes you feel like someone is reading to you, just you, and not reading woodenly from pages.

Husker Du fans, Bob's solo fans, Sugar fans, rejoice! This book will satisfy any urge to glean information about those time-frames in his life. That he opens up and shares more than anyone would expect is just the icing on that cake you've heard about. Highly recommended.
